How do you punch holes in your page protectors?
I have two different hole punchers (hand-held) and both of them just stretch the plastic. The Martha Stewart one is worse than the cheapy from office max.
I also bought a metal punch that's the right size and I hit it with a hammer but even then sometimes it's not crisp.
I don't want to invest in anything unless I know for certain it's going to punch nice holes.
I also have put washi tape down first (to cover up the original holes) and after. That doesn't make a difference.
Basically, I like the oct. afternoon sleeves and the studio calico albums.

The Crop-i-dile. The things that punch the holes have points that help cut through the plastic.

I have a basic hole punch that seems to work just fine, but if I get a sticky page protector, I will run washi tape down the side, punch, and remove the tape.

Sorry about misspelling Crop-a-dile. It's been one of those days.

The washi tape sounds like a great idea! I have always just cut a strip of paper, folded it in half lengthways and placed the edge of the protector inside the fold. Then I mark out where I want to punch the holes and just use an ordinary hole punch. I have found that having the paper on either side works really well and stops the plastic from getting caught in the punch. But I am definately going to try the washi tape idea.

I use the crop-a-dile too. And now I have another great way to use up some washi!

OK, I saw this yesterday and was too embarrassed to ask. But today not so much.
Here goes => Why would you want to punch holes in page protectors? Don't they already have already have holes in them (to put in a binder). Am I missing something?
FWIW ~ I'm a former paper scrapper, now digi...

@giantsfan
I like the Oct. Afternoon page protectors because they have a nice variety of shapes. I don't like their albums (kinda flimsy).
So I use them inside studio calico albums. The holes don't line up so I use washi tape along the edge to hide the old holes and punch new ones so they fit.
These are pocket pages. I don't think it's a stupid question at all!

Some of the reasons to punch a new hole are -a different brand of protectors than the album (WRMK protectors in an off brand album) -different size protectors in one album (6x6, 12x6 and a 12x12 in one album) -altered page protectors

blemon and houston249Thanks for the info. I get it now. I just wasn't thinking "outside the box", or hole in this case.

Another vote for the Crop-a-dile. Cuts through plastic like butter.
