I am so sorry to hear of your husband's diagnosis. I am praying a Novena to St. Peregrine, Patron Saint of cancer patients, for my friends and family members who are undergoing treatment. Your husband will be added to the list. Praying for you as well.

Reading through all the sweet thoughts and well wishes. Praying as I am reading along with many other peas here, dearest Jen.
Sending cyber hugs across the miles and shared tears during this time. Yet standing with you for we serve a God Who is mighty to save!!!

I'm so sorry. I hope he responds well to treatment and it isn't too hard on him. Try to take care of yourself, too...you have a lot on your plate. Lots of prayers and positive thoughts headed your way.

I can't believe how much you have been through recently. Please know you are in my thoughts. So much positive energy coming your way and to your husband. ((((Hugs)))) Thank you yes. Yesterday am I wrote up a timeline of all the dates of various appointments, tests and procedures. Jen, when my husband was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, I found it very hard to keep up with all the different appointments, evaluations, reactions to meds, etc. I got a spiral bound notebook and took it with us every time we went for treatment or to the doctors. Many times that notebook was invaluable as I was overwhelmed (and so was my DH) and we simply could not remember who said what. Whoever was going with DH wrote in that book. Test results, prescription dosage changes, times for next appointment... I still have that notebook.

After dh had initial surgery the nurse said to ask Drs if we could record our conversation so we could review it. The dr didn't mind but. Said we would be receiving a printout anyway. I didn't record and wish I had. Now we're looking back at parts of the conversation that were, say, not part of his report but aome Q and A and wishing we could remember exactly what he said.

Gosh Jenjie, that's hard news to hear and so much for you and your family to go through. My dad was treated for cancer at UPenn and had only good things to say. Sending up prayers for healing and comfort for all of you. Thanks for that encouragement, lefty. I'm curious, Did your dad go to Penn because of close proximity or did he have to travel a distance? I'm wondering because we are only a half hour away. We are fortunate to have Penn, Jeff and Fox Chase Cancer Center relatively close by. As a matter of fact I grew up in Fox Chase. Anyway those are all excellent hospitals, I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. It was just a matter of which one is for us?

Rapid, rapid, rapid destruction of the awful "s". This is what I wish you, one of our most constructive refupeas. ETA: 4 pages in 4 hours says this better than I can. Thank you so much. I am overwhelmed. It took me an hour last night to read through and appreciate and thank each one who posted. <3

Many many prayers for your husband and your family now. "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. when you walk through fire you shall not be burned and the flame will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:1-3 Yesssss! Thank you for this precious truth.

I'm very sorry Jenjie. I hope you have support during this time and that the chemo works quickly! Thank you. Yes we do. This thread may give a little indicator. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/16842/got-played-lolWe have had so many people praying. bringing dinner. Offering whatever we need. Even people we are not particularly friends with. Walking it out with us. I posted on another thread that a friend gave us his recliner to use as long as we need it. He came with us to his first procedure. Told me he would have been with us at the dr appt if he didn't have to work. I told him "I know it! I heard a car outside and peeked out the window expecting it to be you!" LOL Another friend last night told me he talked to dh about eating better, cutting out carbs etc. he said if you do this I'll do it with you. We have been invaded and invested in and it is beautiful. And this is just from our church family! Dh would be the perfect candidate for our numerous "I feel like I don't have friends" threads. But he is seeing just how much he is cared for. His sister said "whatever you need, it's never too much and never too often." Even at work they are bending over backwards trying to help him. His boss, who he often doesn't see eye to eye with, is trying to pull all kinds of strings to help him with time off from work. He has somebody else trying to pull off a long shot for donated leave. It probably won't work , it's a Hail Mary play but just the fact that they want to and are trying to make it happen means so much. We have been incredibly blessed. There is a whole lot of beauty in the middle of the ugliness.

I am SOOOO sorry to hear this. As beautiful as life can be, we sometimes have the rug swept out from underneath us in a second. We are all praying for you to hold onto your faith in the tough times ahead. Our God is a Healer.
dont be afraid to cry, be angry, or whatever. Let your friends help even when you want to be alone. I have had cancer and the strength and help of my friends got me thru.
God bless you all
Diane

I've come back this morning to see if you have posted his name. So - Fred you're on my list.
Have you considered doing a Facebook page for him? Some place where his friends and yours can post support for him? I have another cyber friend (she's actually on this board) who did this for her husband. Folks posted prayers, jokes, funny pictures and videos for him. Also - if you could share the name and address of the hospital I'm sure would love to send cards.
