In keeping with last month's challenge and my 'resolve' to learn flash photography, these are my first photos with my Speedlite 550EX. I played around with it using the manual settings. I still have so much to learn, but it is a start, and I have been putting it off and putting it off because I have been intimidated. Another one for 'soft'.  And one for 'pink'.  Hopefully I am not the only one feeling inspired by this months challenge, and others will be sharing soon! |

Cathy...I'm enjoying what you're capturing. I've been so busy and honestly, won't even begin to slow down until the 2nd week of March. HOPEFULLY I'll have a minute to find some kind of February inspiration...but I'm not really holding my breath. I'm looking though at what you guys are doing.

Thanks, ladies. GaJenny, I know life can get busy sometimes. I'm feeling like a 'thread hog' lol but I have another one for 'pink'. I recently had an opportunity to acquire a Canon 5D, with grip, locally for an awesome price. I love my 7D and didn't 'need' another camera, but I have always been curious about trying out a full frame camera. I am happy with the initial test shots from it.  |

Needmysanity, lovely macro. I really like the composition.
I LOVE grips! I got one for my first DSLR, my XSI, and have had one on every DSLR I've had since. I don't mind the added weight at all and find it often balances a heavier lens. I also love the convenience of having controls on the grip when shooting vertically.
Every one that I've had, I've purchased second hand for a great price and have never had any problems with them. I have never used them with the AA battery option when I did have that, and have since purchased them without it and never missed it. I suppose it could come in handy for some though.

Glad to see there are people able to get their cameras out! What little shooting I got done this month wasn't challenge related at all. I really thought with my schooling finished I'd have more time for fun shooting.. the joke has been on me! haha.
