We absolutely loved it, and I don't think we have ever liked a halftime show before. I would like to have seen a little more Lenny Kravitz, and I'm not too into missy Elliott, but at least the song had good rhythm and dancing.

I loved it. It always amazes me how people dream and design these performances. Not to mention coordinating and corralling all the performers.

Finally, a family friendly half-time show with no wardrobe malfunctions. My kids like Katie Perry. I love Lenny Kravitz, and Missy was pretty good. Win, win, win and I didn't have to shut off the tv part way through because someone was twerking or boobs were popping out. Wasn't the greatest music in the world, but it was good enough. I said the exact same thing to my SO!!

Your "pearl clutcher" title is more than apt, I see. Disturbing trees and sharks? Try amusing. Should Lenny have substituted "boy"? "That rap thing" is classic Missy Elliott and lots of us remember those songs fondly. Unclench. oh FFS, Unclench because I have a different opinion than you? Whatever. What freecharlie said~~~

I wasn't wowed by it, especially when Lenny Kravitz's part was so short. I liked Missy Elliot though. Katy Perry is an awesome performer and wish her show was longer but some parts were a bit too cartoonish for me.

Didn't do it for me, too much high tech stuff (for the first part). Bring back the old timers, to me, they know how to play to an audience. I'd rather have a good old rock band doing their thing without all the Las Vegas-type glitz

No one was flashing nipple this year. Chill out. Missy Elliot is a legend. She made strides for women in rap and r&b. Without her there would be no Aaliyah, Ashanti, Beyonce, etc, etc. She is also a role model for health without selling out to Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig.

What is so wrong with people not liking her or loving her or whoever?? Who gives a crap if I hate Katy Perry or love Missy Elliot?? What do you or anyone else care?? Seriously?!?!? How fricking boring this world or message board would be if we were all the "same" in likes and dislikes??

Maybe I am missing something, but with the exception of a post or two, who needs to chill out? Is it because they don't have the same opinion? Missy Elliot may be a legend in your world, but I have no idea who she is. I don't like rap. I never have. There are a few rap songs from the 80s that I like, but that is it. I also don't care about Aaliyah or Ashanti, and there are only a few of Beyonce songs I like. I am sure that she has a huge impact on music, I still don't have to like her portion of the performance. ETA: I'm not sure what Janet's nipple has to do with this halftime show.

My 3 year old hauled everyone off the furniture and had us all dancing with him for the whole show. We really liked it. I didn't recognize Missy Elliott right away, but she sounded and looked great. Lenny...swoon. Every time.

Our family loved it! We all like Katy Perry's songs and the beach themed part was our favorite. We are biased, we love the beach so much (so anything beach related we like - yes, we are strange!) . Also loved the "tiger"? and loved when she was up on the platform (the part where she was up high, not sure what it was).
We love rap, and we still didn't know who Missy was. But we really loved her performance!

I thought Katy seemed a little stiff. I don't know if she was nervous or what. Normally she is all over the stage and dances a lot more than what she did tonight. Overall I thought it was a good show. Glad it wasn't all sexed up.

I assumed it was a lion since they "roar," though I guess so do tigers. I thought the feline was really well done. It looked real and fake at the same time, like it was computer generated, but it couldn't be because she was on it.

I can't believe I didn't make the "roar" connection!

I am referring to the posters who said Katy Perry's boobs and her dancing with Lenny Kravtiz were innappropriate.

Plus, I had the pleasure of explaining to my little girls why she liked the cherry chapstick on the girl she liked to kiss cos she liked it.

It looked like a (cool!) lion, but in the song she says "eye of the tiger," but both big cats roar -- no matter, she gave a really nice halftime show, I thought.

padresfan619I apologize, I was told to unclench further up, so I lumped you in with that. I honestly didn't notice her boobs being an issue and am not sure what part of her dance was inappropriate, so apparently I don't need to chill

The concensus from my Facebook friends is that it was like an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba. I haven't watched it yet.

I took my older dd's to a Katy Perry concert last year. She puts on an amazing show. I thought her halftime was great. My youngest dd was singing and dancing with her.

Ladies those of you who are unfamiliar with with Missy Elliot just because she is a rap artist shouldn't write her off for that. She is a producer, song writer and a performer. She made a life and a career for herself. That is why I say she is a legend. She went above and beyond the average artist during her prime. The reason you don't see much from her now? She's made enough money to live her life comfortably. I admire her so much.
