Good morning ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend! We had a snow day yesterday so I had an extended weekend! I've been doing ok...not great, but ok. My eating has been so-so...been indulging in cookies. I need to step away. Still no loss but I'm not all that surprised with the cookies. I'm really struggling to keep my focus and I don't know why. I just know that I need to find it and keep it. I did get in a solid hour and 15 min workout yesterday. When dh and I went outside to start the snow cleanup, the snowblower was dead. The poor thing doesn't owe us anything as we've had it 12 years and it's never given us an issue. DH thinks it may have a cracked block. Anyway, it took a solid hour and 15 mins to shovel the foot of snow off the driveway and pullout. And I am SOOOO sore this morning because of it. Unfortunately, we probably won't buy another one until the end of the season, in hopes of finding one on sale. So that means more shoveling. More snow is expected on Thursday...though only a few inches this time. Breakfast today was a bowl of oatmeal and a banana...and coffee. Have a great day today ladies!!

'Morning Brandy! I had a fairly good weekend - went to the gym both days. I even managed to make it in yesterday during the storm (didn't make it to work, but the gym? Yep.)
My scale isn't moving but that might have something to do with hormones. By the end of the week, I hope to see a bit of a shift.
I'm out at a client doing an audit for the next month (starting today) which is going to make getting my 10,000 steps a day nearly impossible. It just means that I'm going to have to watch my food intake.
Meals
Breakfast: Starbucks - latte & bacon sandwich Snack: none Lunch: quark, blueberries, raspberries, walnuts & hemp hearts Snack: raw vegetables & hummus Dinner: sashimi
1397 calories, 127g protein

Morning ladies!!
I totally missed yesterday - had a very lazy day here in the snowed out area that is my town.
But yesterday was weigh-in day for me, and I was pleased to see it was down another pound. Which puts me at 8.5 pounds since I started. I'll take it!
Today is another quiet day for me - I have a huge amount of sugar flowers to make, so I'll get started today for sure - Netflix will be my friend while I'm working.
No idea on meals yet - lunch will be quick, and dinner will be on the road as I have a meeting tonight. Probably some kind of salad with chicken on it from one of the various fast food places on my path...

I'm posting before noon, lol!
Home today with DD, who is fighting off some bronchitis. I actually just finished breakfast (chicken sausage and some smoky roasted sweet potatoes), three hours later than usual thanks to early morning sub lesson plan writing and a visit from my friend (she's a pediatric nurse practicioner that runs her own home visit business--she's awesome).
My weekend was fine, I was off and running for most of it. I was too dang worked up to eat much more than some chips and salsa and a burger for the Super Bowl (still love my Hawks!).
Yesterday was watch day during dance class but it's staying light late enough that I got in a 2 1/2 mile run with one of the other soccer moms during practice.
Hoping to make it to the gym later but will see how DD is feeling. She's been plenty happy and fever-free all morning, just coughing.
This day is actually a bit of a good thing (not the sick part but the off work part) as I've been feeling like I've just barely been keeping up. Of course I brought stuff home from work to do!
I like seeing how everyone is doing and how their weekends went! Keep up the good work!

We have a second snow day, so stuck in the house again. I shoveled for 45 minutes yesterday, and my fitbit only logged 750 steps!!!! I was so tired. We had company over the weekend, and even with going out a couple times I lost a pound. We walked a ton in Boston (in a FREEZING wind) so I must have worked off some calories that way.
I had a whole grain waffle with a smudge of nutella and coffee for breakfast. I have to get to the store or I'm going to be eating ramen for the next two meals.

Still doing pretty well on the low carb thing. I got a new insulin pump last week and I've been having lots of lows which means I have to fix it with sugar. Sometimes lots of sugar. I think I have everything adjusted now, so hopefully I won't have to eat crappy stuff when I don't want to.
I didn't have time to get my means prepared for the week on Sunday night so I had yukky stuff to eat yesterday. Breakfast was a Glucerna shake. Lunch was an Atkins frozen meal. When I got home, I baked some salmon pesto and some cauliflower mash with cheese.

Started my day with a nice 7 mile run and stretching. I was planning to run outside today, but it is crazy windy, so I ended up on the treadmill instead. My arms are sore from my weight workout yesterday, and I love that feeling! My eating has been fine lately. This morning I had an amino drink and protein shake. Hopefully the rest of the day is in track.
My Dr is adjusting my thyroid meds, so I'm looking forward to not needing a nap three hours after I wake up in the morning.
Have a great day everyone!

Morning ladies So it's fraking cold here. And windy. The kind that makes your eyes water and burns your cheeks just walking to the car. I've used that as an excuse to not go to the gym. But honestly I just hate going to the gym. I keep thinking if I go enough I'll be one of those people that gets addicted, that they find some head clearing epiphany happens when they work out. But no, I'm am just not workout oriented. As for food, all is good. Stuck to plan over the weekend. Last night made some awesome pizza quesadilla that were 10pts and stuffed with yumminess.

I worked out Sunday and Monday. I am trying to get motivated to go this morning but it is only 8:30 am and I am ok for a while longer. I will go though. I need it!

I'm doing OK. I was up .8 last week, but down already this week. Eating better and will be going to the gym today. I need to get back to it. I REALLY wish I could find some type of exercise I REALLY liked, so that I would be motivated to stick with it, but that just hasn't happened yet. :-P

KikiPea , what have you tried for exercise? Maybe we can help you brainstorm some ideas!

KikiPea , what have you tried for exercise? Maybe we can help you brainstorm some ideas! I haven't been doing anything but walking about 6 miles 3-4 times a week due to back pain, sickness... Just finished at the gym for the first time in about 4 months. :-p Hoping this is just the beginning...again. ETA: Whn I was going regularly, I was just doing the treadmill and weight machines. I will hopefully be starting Yoga in the Spring, but can probably only afford 1 class per week/every 2 weeks since it will be an additional cost to my gym membership. :-p

I've been at this a REALLY long time...and for a while I was trying to work out at least 2 hours per day (a morning workout and an afternoon workout). I was consistent for nearly 2 years. And then I picked up doing Zumba a couple of days a week and I really enjoyed that. But it got pricey...so I stopped going to that. That was a couple of years ago. Since then, I've either been walking outside or using the equipment I have the in the basement. But I really don't like doing any of it. I'm NOT an exercise person no matter how hard I try to be. I dislike it and would rather be doing something else. Unfortunately, I know that I NEED to do it, especially if I want to lose these last 60 lbs.

Can I join your group? I've been reading for a bit now, but don't want to pop in a "closed" group so to speak.

Breakfast: 1/4 cup organic oatmeal; 16 oz of 1% milk and 3 dried figs. Lunch: A HUGE salad I made myself. Lots of lettuce, baby bella mushrooms, 5 quail eggs (they are delicious), 2 oz of mozzarella cheese and about 4 large olives brined in this really good hot pepper thing (from whole foods). Olive oil mediterranean vinagrette. Dinner: 3 oz of meat (in meat patty form) and 1 cup of rice. Exercise: 1 hour on the treadmill and I walked up 10 flights of stairs. I almost got to four miles today, but I slow down whenever I increase the incline to work on my butt. I did the intro to the kettlebell video yesterday (as in "how not to kill yourself with a kettlebell) and I was like WHOA.

So maybe we need to consider what would motivate you. If walking is too tedious or you're not getting results, would having a walking partner help? A program like Couch to 5K? Listening to an audiobook? Are there any classes at the gym that don't charge extra? Or maybe it's ok to only do Yoga once every other week. Variance helps immsensely. Your body adapts to doing the same thing over and over again. It's so cliche, but the whole "work smarter not harder" thing can really help make it over the hump. Hours and hours of work will only wear your body out and can become such a burden on your schedule it's easy to let it eventually slack off. What can you do that will fit into a reasonable window of time? That will increase your heart rate and allow you to build some strength? How can your doctor or a certified trainer help you to devise a plan that will keep back pain at bay? Just some questions to think about! missfrenchjessica , join on in! This isn't a closed group at all!

Thanks everyone! I'm currently calorie counting and trying to low-carb it and eating as little processed food as possible. Scale doesn't seem to want to budge, but I'm being told I look good. I guess that's good, but honestly, I don't see it. That makes me sad. I want to see what others are seeing. I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but I just don't see it in my figure or in my clothing...not really. Stuff's a little looser, but not to the point where I feel I need to go down a size. I'm sure it'll all come together eventually, it's the waiting that's killing me. Anyway, enough complaining. Today I had a slice of my quinoa spinach bake and coffee for breakfast, lunch was grilled chicken thigh with 1/2 sweet potato, broccoli, and spinach and a veggie soup (what can I say; I'm a volume eater). Dinner was a fried egg and 1 egg white on whole wheat toast with about 1/4 of an avocado half. Snacks: AM--cukes, baby carrots, sugar snap peas, celery PM: Greek yogurt w/ 1 tsp honey and 1/3 cup raspberries. Exercise: strength training w/ my small group and trainer...holy cow it was hard, but I felt really good afterwards. Thanks for including me in this group! I can use all the motivation and accountability I can get!

missfrenchjessica, one way to see it on yourself is to take a photo of yourself once a month. I did that from the very beginning to keep me motivated. It's hard in the beginning when you yourself can't see what everyone else does. That worked wonders for me. Give it a try! And congrats for all your hard work so far. It will certainly pay off!

missfrenchjessica, I wanted to add..try to take the photo in the same outfit, or at least something close so you can REALLY see the difference.

Thanks KikiPea! I've actually started taking a weekly picture wearing the same outfit on Sundays. I haven't really looked at them that closely, but I'm going to start comparing the monthly pictures to see if I can see a difference. I appreciate the support and advice.

Hi everyone! Having a much better day today...yesterday I was all about the sweets and salt, and by bedtime I felt horrible. This morning I did 45 min. of TRX and will hopefully be going on a walk with dh soon (my apologies to the winter folks, but it's 75 degrees here today). I also bought some new Nikes at Macy's today as my others are pretty worn down.
So far food has been good and I'm hoping I can stay on track through tonight. I did pick up a treat at Target today: dark chocolate Bark Thins with coconut. They're a little high in calories but I just have a small piece. Super yummy!
