Why do the families/girlfriends/hangers on get to ride in the duck boats? And why don't the players wear their shirts with the names on them so we know who they are?
I know it's a silly thing to be irritated about but for some reason it's bugging me.

I would imagine the family/friends is so the players get to enjoy the parade *with* their family and friends. It is a pita to leave someone at the parade start (they have to be there 1-3 hours before the start of the parade for "small" parades), find a place along the parade route to watch it, and then find your parade participant after it is over.. especially problematic when the parade route doesn't loop. A family can end up walking miles trying to get reconnected. My ex played a lot of parades as a military bandsman so I have some pre and post parade experiences that aren't good times. A parade eats up an entire day.

I think they were trying to have the players stand near their signs on the duck boats.
I'm bugged because I missed 1/2 of Days of Our Lives. I know...where's my team spirit?

Off topic, but I don't think it deserves it's own thread I have to commend many of the Pats fans that have made nice comments on our Seahawks fan facebook group. It's fun to see all the classy sports fans out there since we usually hear more about the negatives. There were also a cool Steelers and Cowboys fan Didn't see the parade, just a glimpse on our news, but I hope it was good for you guys
