If you use zippered bags for storage, what do you put in them? I decluttered a bit last weekend and got rid of large storage items by putting letters and embellishments into zippered bags. I am not sure the stash will stay in them but it sure saves on space. I had my letters in a variety of drawered units my neighbor made from wood but they took up way too much space on the shelf. I put each letter in a separate quart-sized bag and then have all the bags in a box now. One box instead of 5 storage units. Dh is using the drawers in his garage now.
Wondering what else you store in bags.
Thanks. Dgirl

I get 13x13 bags and store collections in them. I'm also tinkering with putting together my own kits and they are perfect for them too.

I use the smaller craft bags (I think they are intended for jewelry makers) for lots of things. I store wood veneer, tiny die cuts, etc in them. I also like to put embellishments in them when I put together a page kit.

I store most of my smaller 'stuff' in 12x12 Iris boxes (think journaling cards, stickers, rhinestones, enamel dots, etc. Originally I had it all randomly tossed in the Iris container, but found it hard to dig through when I wanted something specific. I used a number of sandwich-sized and quart-sized plastic bags to contain 'like' items in the boxes and make it a little neater. Now my 'stickers and journaling cards' Iris box holds zipper bags that in turn hold the 3x4 cards, 4x6 cards, loose sticker sheets, etc. This works for me because I don't sort my supplies by color or by collection, but by what the items are; it wouldn't necessarily work for anyone else. I also have page kits and half-completed pages in the large zipper bags, and those are stored in a plastic handled case. eta: this is the case I use for my half-completed pages (purchased at Joann's during a SB storage sale!) It comes with hanging folders, but I just pop my page kits into it in their large plastic bags. Someone posted in the thread about page protectors that they store their page protectors in the same case... now I may *need* to get another one!

I'm a themed scrapper and have quite a few Iris containers, each w/one of the different themes I scrap most often (Chirstmas, other holidays, birthday, vacation, sports, etc.). I use zippered bags to store various embellishments (stickers, buttons, die cuts, etc.) w/in each theme in the Iris container. I use them to sort various alphas and keep all the bags in a photo box (or 3 ).

I use the approx 13x13 bags to store kits (either from a kit club or homemade) and I have them in a big basket I got at Hobby Lobby. When I want to scrap, I try to go through that basket first and see if anything in there inspires me before I go digging through the rest of my stash.

I use them to store scraps from paper pads. I used to just stick them in with the rest of the pad and it was a mess every time I wanted to use it again. Sometimes I add any matching embellishments.

I mainly use them for kits. I have divided bead type plastic organizers for wood veneer, sequins, flair, etc.

I use Lizzy's hand-me-down bags to hold my Halloween paper after it was ousted from Iris Cases. Much nicer.

Thanks for the Amazon link, Lizzy - lots of sizes of bags. I appreciate all the responses.

I generally keep my kits together in bags until they are just bits and pieces. I stopped subbing to full-sized kits (I have a Project Life subscription still) maybe 18 months ago, and I am still using up my kit backlog.

I use all different sizes of plastic bags for storage and organization. I have small bits like wood veneer in some and I use larger ones for storing scraps.

I use zippered bags for just about everything. I like that they keep things clean and visible. The latest thing I've decided to keep in a gallon size bag is colored pencils that are useable as is or after you wet them. It takes up a lot less space than a rigid container and I'm not worried about ruining it like a pencil case, plus it fits more than a traditional pencil case.

I buy the generic 2 gallon size bags at my local grocery store. I store the upright in a basket.

I used to store my scraps in the plastic bags sorted by colour but I found that I wasn't using them as much so when I re-arranged my paper storage, the scraps moved out of the bags. It's working better for me now.
[for sewing, I use the plastic bags for projects - one/bag - keeps all the pieces together]

I use the really small baggies, used for jewelry items I think, and put my small embellishments in those. I have all my brads/eyelets/washers/charms, etc., etc. in those baggies and everything is sorted by type and color. I punched holes in the corner edges and have them on rings. I did this many, many years ago - maybe 10? and it has worked well for me ever since.

I use LOTS of zippered bags for storage. I use mostly gallon sized bags. I've saved them from swaps, etc. so I had a lot on hand. I store all my ribbons, separated by color. Then I attach them to a hanger that has four levels of clips for hanging skirts in tiers, and hang them in my craft closet. I also store all my paper scraps by color in zipper bags, tops open to accommodate any size. Then I store all my alphabets separated by color. I store the scraps and alpha stickers together in a box with the top cut off. I keep the box by my side when I scrap so I have easy access to all my scraps.
