Love my Hoover Windtunnel bagged vacuum. I tried 3 different bagless and hated them due to the bagless feature. I had to order a vacuum cleaner to get a bagged one. This. Unless they stop making them, we won't give up bagged vacuums again.

I had a Dyson for years and have grown to hate it so 2 weeks ago I bought a Shark Lift Away and I love that vacuum. It has amazing suction and the lift away feature is great for my carpeted stairs.

I never take my vacuum apart and use the canister part alone. Is that what I should be doing for hard surfaces and stairs?

I have an Oreck and love it. It is a bagged vacuum. I had a bagless (I think it was a Dirt Devil) and hated it. Oreck offers a 30 risk free 30 day trial. If you don't like it just return it.

Oh my! Who knew that we could be so passionate about our vacuum cleaners? I remember a few years ago, on the old board, when Dyson was so highly recommended. I was looking at this shark vacuum cleaner earlier today. Frankly I haven't shopped for a vacuum in several years and I had sticker shock. Those who've recommended the Shark, is this the model that you suggest? Actually, this is the one I have. The price is about half of what the Dyson's regular price was at the time we got it. (My DD worked at Best Buy when we got the Dyson and they had a special deal for employees to get them at about 70% off.) The vacuum we had before the Dyson was a Hoover Windtunnel that cost about $200 when we got it more than 20 years ago. I forgot to mention that the best thing about the Shark is how easy it makes it to vacuum my stairs. I just pullout the wand, lift away the canister, attach the floor attachment and go. It actually takes more time to say what I do than to do it. With the Dyson, I would pull out the wand and attach the extenders and the attachment. Then, I'd have to leave the vacuum at the bottom of the stairs while I stretched it up to the top step. The vacuum would invariably fall over while I was trying to vacuum. It was very awkward. I also hated that I had to pull out the wand and use an attachment to vacuum under my kitchen cabinets. The Shark just fits goes under the edge perfectly.

My MIL has an Oreck. The wheel fell off and she ordered a new one, and the new one isn't the right one. Now they refuse to help her. Needless to say she isn't happy with Oreck. She still uses the vacuum cleaner (FIL refuses to replace it) but she has to drag it around.

I know most like Dyson, but I seriously love my Shark. I have this model. Not trying to sell you anything on QVC, but this is where I purchased mine.

I have the Shark Lift Away Pro that Mary Kay Lady linked. I think we paid just over $200 for it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It is an awesome vacuum.

We just bought a Bissell powerlifter vacuum. It does a great job. But we only have carpet in the bedrooms. Still it picks up an astonishing amount of stuff. The first time I used it I was icked out over how much our old vacuum cleaner left behind.

I have a Kenmore canister vac with the beater bar. I've only bought Kenmore for years and years, but now I'm getting older I'm thinking I might want to try one of the new, lighter-weight ones that are easier to use.

I bought a Shark Lift Away a couple months ago. At first I was suspicious because it feels so light. But now I love it. The head rotates so it's easy to maneuver, it picks up a ton of stuff, it has handy ass attachments, and the canister lifts off, so you can vacuum stairs, upholstery, etc. is this short for assorted or should I get the bad mental picture?

We returned the Dyson and bought a Shark. I asked the Owner of the Cleaning Company at work for her recommendation and she said hands down a Shark. They use Sharks at all the business offices they clean.

I love, love, love my Oreck. It's self propelled, it swivels and it is super light weight.
