A lot of my facebook friends have posted that one - some to rub it in and some to commiserate. I have to keep liking them for some sick reason but he's right - it is getting harder and harder these days.  And whenever I think about that recent choke in game seven (and I try not to!!!) I always feel for Commander Hadfield who is also a Leafs fan. He was coming back from the ISS and the Leafs were winning 4-1 when he left space and by the time he landed back on earth, they had lost.  ETA: quiltz I've lived all across Canada and in different countries - blue veins are in no way limited to the GTA!! |

The problem boils down to management. Nunios gave both Kessel and Phanuef no trade contracts. Which means to get rid of them, they have to pay out their entire contract. Phanuef is NOT worth the money he makes for sure! Kessel has gotten fat and lazy (played what? One shift in the all star game?) but they know that the owners will NOT pay out the money to get rid of them. The team makes a lot money year after year. They are one of the highest earning teams in the league; win or lose...and lose they do...very well!!! Until the fans stop going to the games and supporting them, they will never make a huge move to try to win the Stanley Cup.
Trading Rask was a HUGE mistake. Keeping Phanuef and Kessel is another. Kessel needs his ass kicked and Phaneuf needs not only to be stripped of his "C" but he needs to be benched. He is useless.
