Almost a year ago, I wrote a grant application to help fund STEM programs for our school district. In July, we learned that our application was selected, and that we would be receiving $2,000,000 from Lockheed Martin, which would enable us to implement Project Lead the Way in every school in our district, over the next 3 years. We had to keep the news confidential - until today Here's a news release about the grant: LinkAnd here's a link to local news coverage: News Story It was a very good day in my world

That is awesome. As a math fanatic and former engineer that would thrill me. My nieces and nephews go to Tustin schools so maybe they will benefit edited: oops thought it was OC California!

Wow! That's incredible. $2 million will go a long way A friend of mine wanted to started a robotics club at his kids' school. It's one of the national competition ones. He offered the school all the robotics kits free, mentors, and a $5,000 check to get started. The school board turned him down without any reason.

Congratulations! When DH was teaching high school, he wrote a grant that the governor himself came down to present. It was pretty heady stuff. Too bad I hated the governor.

I used to do a lot of grant writing and completely understand all the hard work, sweat, and tears that goes into a major grant application. Way to go for submitting what was obviously such an impressive and successful application!
