Happy Friday ladies!!! YAY for Friday! Another late start here this morning for my kids. We've had 1 snow day and 3 late starts this week. Makes for a huge upset to my schedule, and theirs, when we have so many. And next week we're expecting another huge bout of snow so more disruption. I thrive on a schedule so this is messing me all up! I'm hanging in there. Not doing horrible, yet not doing great. The tight budget is not helping. Only a couple of weeks left of the tight budget so as long as I can hold tight, I'll be all set. Breakfast this morning was 2 pieces of toast with pb and 1/2 a grapefruit. I'm not sure what lunch will be since I'm heading out to do grocery shopping right after I drop the kids off at school. I have several stops to make and no doubt will be out during lunchtime. I may just stop and get a coffee and call it good. We're going to have our taxes done in the morning and then tomorrow afternoon we're having friends over to play games/cards and have Mexican. We're all making a Mexican themed dish...I'm trying to keep it halfway healthy and having shredded chicken in the crockpot for tacos and/or burritos and the fixings for that. Another friend is bringing some sort of soup and an enchilada bake and another friend is bringing a vegetarian chili. Should be fun! Exercise. Ugh. What can I say except I'm failing hugely in this area. I haven't worked out all week. Yes, I've shoveled snow for 45-75 minutes several times this week. I did some hard core cleaning for 4 hours which was a lot of squatting and bending over. But I haven't hit the treadmill, bike, elliptical or weights at all. And this is what happens...I do really well for a month working out and then I lose umph. I am NOT going to let it happen this time. Sunday...I'm going to work out on Sunday in some capacity. Well I hope you ladies have a great Friday and a great weekend!! I'm not sure if I'll be around tomorrow to post anything but should be around on Sunday some time!!

I have to say, Brandy, that calories burned are calories burned. You've still managed to work your body and muscles, even through crazy weather and crazy schedule. Own it!!! You're smart to get back into the regular routine, but there's nothing wrong with shaking things up with a change now and then. I bet you're not bad off at all from your "break" from exercise.
I'm trying to get back into a routine, too. It's hard when it's so cold and snowy outside and everyone's schedule is all messed up.

Definite yay for Friday! At my weigh-in last night I was down 0.8, but after the trying week I had, I was pretty happy with that and so relieved that I had not gained anything! I still need to work the exercise in. I know it will help, and I will feel better. My mom flies in Wednesday, and I have already warned her that we will be eating healthy, and she's on board. We will be out and about a lot, so I did meal planning and grocery shopping yesterday. If I don't plan ahead, I fail miserably! I hope you all have a great weekend! Brandy your party sounds like so much fun! I love playing games and cards.

My budget is really tight this month too Aldi's is my new BFF I had four pieces of toast with lite butter and a whole cantaloupe for breakfast. Not sure what lunch will be since I'm working---maybe two Atkins meal bars and water, and dinner is totally up in the air-----I;m still trying to get more water in every day but it hasn't become routine yet.....I did run yesterday so that was good. I never weigh myself so can't post that---I go off how my clothes fit and right now they're a bit tight :/ Anyway, hope everyone has a GREAT, healthy weekend!

I am so glad to be back on this thread! I have been out of commission the past 6 weeks and today I woke up and could breath through my nose! It may not sound like much but every year I spend most of January & February on steroid shots and meds fighting major allergy/sinus issues and it makes me completely useless. Hopefully the season has passed and I will be starting my routines up again. I can't wait to be able to go back to the YMCA and also take my daily walks!
Brandy - I can completely relate. I get so out of whack when my routines are messed with. I have to say though, I think MaryAnnScraps is right - it sounds like you are doing a good job of working with you've got time/weather wise!
Songbird - WTG on the loss!
Katrina - Getting more water into my daily routine is something I've been working on too - I find it much harder during the cold weather.

Brandy, you would be surprised how many calories you burn shoveling snow! It can be a lot, especially for that amount of time. Good for you girl! I actually enjoy shoveling snow. It's the only thing about snow I do enjoy. songbird - Good job with the loss! Every little bit counts! katrina - I wish I didn't care about what the scale shows me, but I do! Ultimately it is about how my clothes are fitting me, but I still weigh in every Sunday morning to see if I am headed in the right direction. @txrangersfan - Glad you are feeling better! I bought a fitbit a few weeks ago, and it is nice to see what the dashboard shows. I entered a goal weight and wanted to be pretty aggressive. It says that I should hit that goal the week we leave for Spring Break, so we will see . . . I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Still doing pretty well. I'm down a couple of pounds since about a week ago. BUT, i have a feeling I might put that back on tomorrow. We have some friends that are coming to town tomorrow so we are going to my absolute favorite place for dinner. It's a French restaurant and there's nothing low-cal about that! I am going to eat whatever I want and then get back on track afterward though. Also, I'm riding 45 miles on my road bike tomorrow and then a 2-3 hour mountain bike ride on Sunday. It's going to be in the 70s and sunny this weekend, so I'm taking advantage!!!

Thanks for keeping this thread up Brandy. Glad to hear you are all doing okay. I've been doing low carb / south beach since new years. Two Friday's ago I planned a deliberate cheat (burger & fries at Red Robin) and fell off completely for the rest of the week with Chinese food twice, my mom's bday cake, etc., etc. Anyway I've been back on plan this week but still have not lost what I gained in my cheat week. Why does it always take longer to lose than to gain!?
I also hurt my back and took a week off of zumba class. I was determined to go last night, and when I got there I was the only car in the parking lot - it was cancelled due to snow storm. So I will rest my back up for the weekend as well and head back next week. Good luck to you all!

I have to say, Brandy, that calories burned are calories burned. You've still managed to work your body and muscles, even through crazy weather and crazy schedule. Own it!!! I agree!! I count yard work when I'm out there for hours at a time, weeding, raking, and mowing. It's hard work! No exercise for me today (rest day). I'm headed off to crop for the rest of the day with my SIL. It's pouring here so dinner will probably be veggie pizza from the place next door. I've tried to be really good today so I don't go over. I also want to say how much I appreciate Brandy for starting these threads every day! I don't always reply but I do try and read and it means a lot that you are always willing to start them. Thank you!!

Hi all, the Friday post. Does anyone have a cheat meal planned for this weekend? I hope I can keep it together all weekend. I felt pretty good today. I am finally to the point where I look forward to working out. Mostly because it is so warm in there and it keeps me heated for awhile,

I moved alllll of the contents of my classroom across campus today, so I'm getting close to nearly 20K steps today!
I ate a big spinach salad for lunch, then after Oly training at the gym (which takes me about 90 minutes total including warm-up, rest between sets, mobility, etc.) DD and I went to Olive Garden for dinner (her choice for making honor roll). I had the Garlic Rosemary Chicken, which was quite good. I ate half the chicken and just a couple of bites of the mashed potatoes. I brought home the leftovers. DD was SO incredibly charming with her restaurant manners the server gave us a full-sized ice cream sundae for dessert, then charged me for the kid's size one I had ordered. So....I helped DD eat some of that. According to her, "best.dinner.ever."
I don't regret a single calorie. I was moving constantly, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, for about 6 hours today. I knew I was going there for dinner so I ate a lighter lunch than usual. And I lifted weights for a solid hour.
I think when you give yourself permission to enjoy the rare food occasions like this (we go to Olive Garden maybe twice a year), it becomes that much more enjoyable.
Have a great weekend everyone!

What's Oly training?! I've read that on another website and have no idea what it is.

Hi all, the Friday post. Does anyone have a cheat meal planned for this weekend? I hope I can keep it together all weekend. I had a "cheat meal" this evening. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes. It can't really be called a cheat meal because I budgeted my calories for it I'm still under for the day. But boy, after almost 3 weeks eating completely clean, it sure feels like it!
