I'd like to play some of the ones that haven't been updated in a while.

I would like to do a challenge thread that we make a list of challenges and we do them.
for example...... Use 3 patterned papers 3 solid papers 3 pictures 3 brads eyelets or buttons 3 flowers bows or other ribbon Use NO scissors, paper cutters or any other cutting tools.
My daughter and I have in the past given each other challenges like this and they are fun to do. We have even come up with some fun things like the time we did a challenge using pom poms. The stranger the better.

Dorichatelain, I think that sounds like a fun challenge. Marianne has taken a break from the Stashbusters Challenge so a new challenge would be fun. I'd be happy to participate.

How should we get it started? I have never started a challenge before.

I would suggest starting with a recipe like you posted above, probably a simple one at first. Just start a thread titled: (whatever you want to call it) and post it in the Challenges threads. You might want to post a note in the NSBR, stamping and other boards that you are starting it. You can decide what the rules are and how long the challenge will last (monthly/weekly) and post those in your initial post.
I hope you will get some good participation. Let me know if I can help.

I am still wanting to get a challenge started I just need to come up with rules. I want it to be where we challenge each other. What if I name it
"I challenge you /You challenge me"
Then I can post the first challenge and give a due date and then some one else can post one and give a due date. or would that be too confusing.
Should we come up with a list of challenges and then post them on in one post? I have never done anything like this on a forum before.
Any help would be really appreciated.

I like broad challenges that give me a chance to use up my stash if I'm not shopping, or that let me play with my newest stuff. Things like the recipe challenge you listed above, sketches, scraplift a lo, colour challenges, themes (which I like broad so "celebrations" rather than "birthday" lets me choose to scrap Christmas, birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc). I'm happy with challenges that give multiple options like the monthly Stashbusters challenges, and I'm also perfectly fine with challenges that rotate through ideas, so might be a sketch this month and a colour challenge next month, or just focus on the one idea, so offers a different colour challenge every month.
I tend to dip in and out of challenges depending on how much scrappy mojo I have so I definitely like low-stress challenges that are easy to play along with in a big or a little way.

I just figured out that the Stashbusters challenge has been discontinued so I'll play along if someone wants to start a new challenge!

What has happened to penny, who used to do the color/mood boards? I haven't seen her around in a while. I hope everything is okay!

Would you ladies like to do a weekly, bimonthly or monthly challenge?

Monthly works better for me because I don't always have time to scrap but if the challenges are more frequent I'll just skip some and play along with the ones I can.
Thanks for offering to host something!
