what do you use on your table for extra space at a crop?

I usually pull up an empty chair on either side of me sideways and put stuff on those.

I was just at a scrapbook event and saw several ladies with these kind of wire shelves set up on their crop space. They were kind of like this.



I think they could see over them well enough to talk to others. It seemed they had paper/projects lying flat on them.

I've seen folding shelves like that. But I am so curious. Why are you bringing a full size computer?

I have the white wire shelves similar to this => White shelves However they don't fold flat.

I also take a couple of rolling carts and this => Rolling Cart Tip: To keep rolling drawer carts closed during transport I use old suitcase belts. They adjust to any size and keep everything closed.

I have a couple different sizes of wire shelves that fold up. I got them at Walmart. I place my tool tote on them with my cutter underneath so they are out of the way.

I have a folding wooden TV tray table that I set up next to my chair; that's where my laptop and/or Cameo goes when I'm using them. (I think I got it for about $35 at Walmart?? It's pretty good quality.)) I do actually make somewhat of a 'barrier' on my table (not on purpose, lol!) because I have most of my supplies in 12x12 Iris cases, and they get stacked up (about 3 cases high) at the edge of my table in between me and the person across from me. I also will stack Iris cases on the floor underneath, next to my feet. I also have my XL Navigator on the floor with supplies in.

Basically, I bring so much stuff with me to a crop that I'm, like, building a scrapbooking supply fortress around me, lol!! And then I only end up with about a 12 inch square space to work in, or less...  

I have also seen people bring wire shelves like you can use in your cabinets to stack plates on, to build 'vertical' storage space on the table. I already have my supplies in Iris cases, so that's why I just stack them up-- I don't want to bring extra stuff or change up the way I store things just for going to a crop.

ETA: last 3-day crop I was at, the woman across from me did a couple different projects- one of them was mainly using her computer; she was scanning many years worth of negatives and slides. I use my Cameo so need my computer, and also need my laptop in case I want to print (or re-print) photos with my Selphy. Basically I take everything but the kitchen sink with me to a crop!

Most of the people I crop with use the basic wire shelf thingy too. But one person does bring her Raskog cart. Most just work out of their totes and then the wire shelf. The weekend house we go to actually has those 12x12 white wire thingies that we used to store paper on on each table. She has them two high which is nice.

A couple of my friends have the folding wire shelves for their tables, not sure where they got them though. My BFF said she bought one for me but can't find it. LOL. At the last crop I went to I brought my new Mac folding wagon and just left my Iris and Options bins full of stuff in it and just rolled it under the side of the table and pulled it out when I needed to switch bins. Worked great so I wouldn't have to have all of my junk on top of the table at once. I only had 4' of an 8' table.

It just amazes me some of the elaborate setups that people bring in for a one day or a weekend crop! If I'm bringing my laptop and cutter or Selphy, that pretty much eats up all of my working space.

I think I may *need* one of those folding wagons now, after reading this thread-- for the 3-day crop I go to, we each get a 6-ft table to ourselves, so I bring, oh, let's see--

about 6-8 12x12 Iris containers that hold all my embellishments, stickers, 3x4 and 4x6 cards, stamps / ink, Thickers, small letter stickers, washi tape, bling/ribbon/twine... I also bring my portable Cropper Hopper paper storage box (the old one that has the handles, looks like a picnic basket), my Cameo, my laptop, my Selphy, 8-10 DCWV paper pads, my XXL Navigator full of punches... Oh- and some pictures to scrap, too!! LOL!!

I'll tell you, I'd been wanting one of those folding wagons ever since I saw one in real life and they are AWESOME. It was cheapest from Sam's or from the hardware store. It worked perfectly to get all of the stuff for two pack rat scrappers from the car to our table with a minimum of trips back and forth, and like I said, I just kept my stuff in it under the table which was really handy.

 I ***LOVE*** that it folds up so small, it slips right between the back of my front seat and the top of the folded down back seat, so it fits in what is otherwise unusable cargo space which is great. The fact that it folds up is great for storage the rest of the time too, it takes up almost no room when I'm not using it. My only regret is that I didn't find out about it--and BUY one--sooner!

We have a ton of space at our weekend crop location. We each get a 6 or 8 foot folding table and then behind us have either a row of chairs or a skinny 6' table. I sit in a corner and make a large L shape with an 8' and 6' table.

I also use the Raskog cart so sit beside me. That holds a ton of heavy stuff.

Yes, the Sam's wagon is the Mac Wagon.  I think that is the spelling. It rolls right under the table.  I usually keep half of it out for storage.  You can also pull up the toggle in the middle of it and roll it under the table flat.

I got this one for my daughter for Christmas. She doesn't scrap, but uses it for just about everything else!

If you want the Mac Wagon, find a friend who has a Sam's membership. It is $50 something at Sam's. Amazon had it for over $80. I use it in the spring to plant flowers and hubby uses it all summer as the beer wagon at the lake. I need one that we don't share.
