I pulled a bunch of FEB issues of CK and MM for Valentine card inspiration.....It is SO fun looking at the old mags---I'm glad I saved them! The ones I randomly picked were from 2002-2005....it also reminds me of how much I LOVED reading peoples' reviews (page by page sometimes!) every time a new issue came out. I loved how people would even comment on the ADS! I've been wanting to create more pages for my fur babies' albums recently, and me thinks I'm gonna go crazy and scrap like a maniac like I used to! I miss those days!!! I also miss when my teenage niece would visit on her Spring break and we would scrap ALL day and into the wee hours!!! (back in the early 2000's). Recently, she and I started saying how fun it would be to do that again someday I'm getting ready to make her a Valentine, so I found a pik of us scrapbooking together back in 2003 As I was looking for an old pik of us, I found piks of us celebrating when she had a layout published in Memory Makers (she was only 14!).....that was exciting! One of my layouts was also in that same issue (I think, I'm not positive), so it was a little exciting Auntie / Niece moment!

What great memories! Somehow I doubt the same could be had with digital versions. I miss scrapbooking magazines! When you say reviews every time a new magazine came out, even the ads, did you mean on blogs? I used to do that on my blog sometimes. Yeah, the ads were the best. Back before the instant gratification of the interwebs, we had to wait for each new issue to find out what was coming out next, LOL. It seemed more exciting that way.

Journeyfan....no, I didn't read blogs, I would read the reviews on "Two Peas" and WOW---this is REALLY going back----also read reviews on 2 other sites I was on a lot--- "Cropper's Cottage" and "Scrapbook Addict." It was exciting to see what was coming out, and I always enjoyed the SNARKY/ FUNNY comments people would make about the ads, too! (such as "really? do we REALLY need more of this product?") etc. I didn't like it when someone commented negatively on a layout, and the person who created it would post.....drama/ hurt feelings/ etc.....ugh! I always figured if someone was willing to put their layouts out there, they should realize not everyone would enjoy them, and not post back defensively.....Sorry, I digress----didn't meant to get on THAT topic!

Sitting on the couch with a scrapbook magazine that actually had real layouts in them. Not unattainable or unrealistic design team layouts (which are awesome, I'm just not making them). Flipping thru, seeing new product. Reading the articles.

Do you get Scrapbook Cards and Today magazine? It's awesome! It only comes out 4 times a year but I love going out to my mailbox and seeing a new issue. I promise I don't work for the magazine but I love it and I want them to keep publishing it.

I just went through some old sb mags too. It was so fun to check the mailbox waiting for the next issue. And yeah, though new and trendy at the time, the layouts were actually attainable by folks like me! I had my favorite scrappers who published regularly, and always read all the details under each layout.
I remember visiting family in Utah one year and going to THREE different scrapbook stores, there were none yet where I lived. I was on cloud nine!
Ah the good old days!

I was doing the same this weekend, looking for inspiration to finish my last few Disney layouts. I miss the magazines too. I was a bit sad to see how many companies that have come and gone as well as all the conventions and events from the good 'ole days. What struck me the most is how simple the layouts were and how much I like the clean lines.

That brings back lots of memories! I really miss scrapbooking magazines. I think I had a subscription with 4 at one time. Digital magazines are just not the same.

I kinda want to scrap your dogs. Both of my fur babies have their own albums. My SIL's make fun of me for doing dog books, but you just can't get a bad picture of a dog. And frankly any shot of my corgi makes his butt look big and he doesn't seem to mind.

I used to love the scrapping mags. Eventually I stopped buying them because I felt they focused only on the trendy, and didn't really show a variety of styles. I ripped apart all of my magazines (ten years worth) and put the best into binders. I also keep old CTMH and Stampin' Up catalogues, just for the ideas.
I know you can browse the Internet, and there are a few digital scrapping mags, but it's not nearly as enjoyable as browsing a paper copy of a magazine to me.

Yessss, I agree about digital versus PAPER......I just LOVE to read a good ole', regular MAGAZINE....I'm the same way with BOOKS----I still prefer good ole fashioned BOOKS! Thinking back, at one time, I subscribed to FOUR----Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, PaperKuts, and Simple Scrapbooks (remember THAT one???) There was also a lesser-known mag---oooh, what was it called--- Some with the world COTTAGE in it, maybe? Anyone remember? 950Nancy....both of my furbabies have their own scrapbook, too! I've had "the fever" lately, so I wanna add more pages!!! My older guy has wayyy more pages in his book than his baby sister.... Sassenach.....thank you for that info

The Cottage one was Ivy Cottage I think. I used to get all of the mags at one point. I miss them too.
