DD (age 9) dabbled around with Club Penguin in the past but this summer she is really into it so I am trying to figure out everything I need to know as far as safety goes.
I currently have her account set to "Ultimate Safe Chat" mode. I know at some point she will probably figure out that some of her friends are set to "Standard Safe Chat" and ask about that. I'm wondering how much safer "Ultimate" is vs. "Standard"?
She uses our laptop set up on the bar on the main level of our house and it is very easy to monitor what she's doing on it as we have a completely open floor plan (save potty breaks and if I get something out of the freezer in the garage, etc.), I just want to make sure I'm being diligent and aware.
Any tips you've picked up from experience?

My 6 year old is still set to safe chat but it seems like a well monitored site. I would let a 9 year old chat more freely, with reminders of internet safety.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking but wanted to see if maybe there was something I didn't know about or wasn't considering.

My 10yr DD has her settings at "Standard Safe Chat." Have not had any issues with it, but I tried to keep an eye on her. I think it's more fun for the older to kids to be able to chat more freely.
