I have made several. They are a lot of fun to make and to give, and so far they have been a big hit with the people who received them. They aren't hard to do, but sometimes the inside panel sections can be a little tricky. Use a good adhesive that holds really well but is not completely irrevocable. I usually use score tape, I was using my ATG gun at first, but the panels were coming undone sometimes. I have a few on my blog. The first ones I made were from purchased files, from the Silhouette Online Store or from SVG Cuts.com: My first box cards
The second batch of box cards were ones that were more or less of my own design: More box cards
The last link is to a Halloween box card I made that was inspired by an SVG Cuts design:

I have made a bunch of them. I taught my 10 year old granddaughter how to do them and she did a 4-H Demonstration on making them. She had some fun ideas with 4th of July and Halloween. She won a trophy for her Demo.
They are easy once you get the pattern perfected, and people receiving them are AMAZED!

I love those cards and have been wanting to make one. I really need to take the time to sit down and try one.

I've watched a couple of videos on how to make them. They look super fun to make and I can't imagine getting one. May have to try one soon.

Thank you! I'm glad that some here enjoyed seeing them.
I have made some of my box cards from "scratch" as well as from a pre-designed cut file. The first ones I made were Silhouette files from their online store. While the cut file makes it easy, it's not that hard to make them with just a trimmer and scoring board, either. I think there is a tutorial on SplitCoastStampers for those who haven't tried it yet, and I'm betting there is one on YouTube. Once you get the hang of it, it is really easy to adapt and make a box card with leftover scraps of paper, die cuts, or whatever you have on hand that is leftover from a layout. Some of those that I posted were made with scraps. The only embellishments that do not work well for making box cards (if you want to be able to fold them flat) are the dimensional embellishments. If you won't be folding your box card flat for putting into an envelope, it doesn't matter what you use.
The best ready-to-use cutting files I have found for box cards is at SVG Cuts.com. They make it super easy to make some really amazing box cards. I think theirs tend to be a lot more creative than the ones I have found in the Silhouette store.

I wanted to try these but I'm very intimidated by them. Don't be. I just followed a You Tube video and cut the paper the size they recommended. I know you can buy cut files, but these were easy to make. We found that it's much easier to decorate the "braces" for the inside before actually putting them into the box. We also found that using double-stick red tape worked best for closing the box and for attaching the braces. For everything else we used whatever glue/tape/etc. we wanted. I know you can do it!! Give it a try.

I wanted to try these but I'm very intimidated by them. Don't be I haven't tried them, but remember back in the day being intimidated by different new things. Just break them down bit by bit and they won't seem so overwhelming

I too was intimadated by the cards so I tried one using copy paper and then "ugly" paper so I didn't waste any good paper. Now I make them all the time. made one for a friend and she had me make several for her to use during the year. My biggest problem is finding pieces of plastic to use. I plan on buying the acrylic sheets from SU to have on hand.

I have made several and given them away. Unfortunately, the last two people I gave them to died. I haven't made any lately.
