Double check that you are loading the mat and not loading media.

Also, when you do your first print and cut, I think you have to do something to sort of calibrate the machine. At least you had to with the Wishblade. I haven't done a print and cut with my Cameo yet.
A good place to ask for help is the Silhouette Plus forum. They have a lot of tutorials. If you don't find the help you need in a tutorial, or already answered on the board, you can ask for help. Chances are high that your problem has already been answered there.

Calibration is for very small adjustments only.
First, make sure you have loaded your mat correctly, and that it is a Silhouette mat, not a Cricut mat. Line up the left edge of the mat with the short line on the base of the Cameo. Double check that you have "LOAD CUTTING MAT" selected on the machine itself - look at the screen on the machine itself. It is easy to bump a button the machine and have it "LOAD MEDIA" by mistake.
Double check your registration marks. It is easy to use the wrong ones, especially since the update. You need TYPE 1. It will have a small black box at the upper left side and 90º marks on both the upper right and lower left - they need to be the full angle mark, not just a line.
Now - make sure your paper sizes and orientation match. For example if you are printing on 8.5x11 in portrait orientation - your printer settings need to be the same. You can chech/change your printer settings after you hit the print icon in Studio. The menu will pop up - select "preferences" on that to go into your printer setup. Also make sure you do NOT have borderless selected in your printer setup.
Make sure your paper has printed straight. If the printer has pulled the paper in, even slightly, at an angle - it will throw off the print & cut.
One of the most common mistakes I see is the wrong registration marks. Instead of the small black square at the upper left, there will be another 90º angle. This is for the old SD machine - not the new Cameos and Portraits.
There are some fantastic Facebook groups that can also give you help. It is super easy to post photos there, so we can help you a little more by seeing the problem. Silhouette For Beginners or Silhouette Cameo Creations are easy ones to get into, since they are "closed", but not "secret". The Beginners one really moves fast and has lots of help.

I had an issue with printing from my printer's main paper tray. It was pulling and printing slightly crooked. I couldn't even tell with the naked eye! When I printed from the single sheet feeder from my printer, it worked perfectly.
Also, make sure your image is not in the indented part of the registration marks, up top, that affects it too!

I had this issue recently. I tried to cram a bunch of stuff onto one sheet of paper and I moved the registration marks. Wouldn't cut a thing and frustrated me so much, I shut everything off and walked away. When I came back, I started fresh and left the registration marks where they were. No issues cutting after that. No idea why but I'm assuming it had to do with me fiddling with the registration marks.
