So, I'm invited to a joint wedding shower for 2 brides that I've never met, (daughters of neighbors). It's a "Room by Room Shower" I've been given a "room gift assignment". For one bride I've been assigned: bedroom. For the other bride I've been assigned "living room". I'm terrible at gifts. There is no notation of being registered so I'm at a loss. Any ideas for Bedroom or Living Room gifts? TIA!

Ask their mother or the hostess if they are registered - that definitely is the best way to go. They may have just left it off to be polite.
If you can't shop off registries, then:
Bedroom: - Pillowcases (surprisingly expensive) or sheets if you want to spend more - Sunrise alarm clock - Hamper (I have an awesome 3-section nice looking one) - Photo frame with a photo of the couple (this could be either room)
Living Room: - Coasters - Soft throw monogrammed with the new last name or initials - Universal Remote

If you can't shop from a registry (which I always like because you know it's what they want), how about: Living room --Absorbent stone coasters. --lightbulbs (they're not cheap anymore) Bedroom --nap blanket --nice hangers

My first question is: if you do not know either bride, why are you attending or even invited in the first place?
Second, go really generic since you're obviously invited just for the gift (you have no ties to the brides), so get something like a candle set and call it good.
Though I'd really consider not going since it sounds like a gift grab. Strangers have no place at showers or other wedding events.

Thanks for the quick replies! I left a message for the hostess but I don't want to call their mom because...the shower is tonight...in 3 hours, lol! I don't want her to know that I waited until the very last minute to buy their gifts. Shopping is SO hard for me & my mind was completely blank. I would rather give them cash but I think at a shower most of the fun is opening the gifts, so I'm off to shop. Grinningcat, just doing the neighborly thing since I was invited.

Set of sheets, nice blanket or set of pillows. Hard if you don't know the sizes though. Throw, alarm clock, reading lamp or nice hangers.
For the living room, lamp, nice coasters, set of TV trays, some sort of crystal bowl or vase.

For the living room: A plush throw with a box of popcorn and a netflix gift card For the bedroom: That's harder when you don't have a list! Did you try searching for their names at the Target and Bed Bath and Beyond registries? You can do that online to get a better idea of her taste and needs.

Candles ! An engraved frame. Cute pillows. Love the engraved throw idea. A really soft throw is useful always.

I'd say a nice set of coasters as well. You could do for both. My DH likes to have something to drink in the evening when we watch TV in our bedroom

How about a wall mirror, over the door hanger, atomic clock that shows time on ceiling, or touch lamp.
