I sometimes get emails from Pinterest. I stopped the ones that told me every time someone pinned something that I had pinned, but I didn't mind seeing their suggestions for new boards or pins that are related to things I have already pinned. Until now.
Pinterest keeps trying to get me to follow the same scrapping board over and over. I have come to recognize both the name and the image of her board. I chose not to follow her board because her pins are not my style. Why must Pinterest keep suggesting it to me day after day? I am not going to mention the person's name just in case she comes here, but it is getting incredibly annoying.
And one more vent......why must Pinterest recommend individual pins to me that I have already pinned?
Vent over, but am I the only one these things bother?

I don't get any emails from them but I do not like the "Pinned for you" pins on my wall. It seems like there are more of them than people I follow on my main screen.

I get emails from them; but, none that are promoting certain boards to follow. That's probably because I haven't followed anyone else's boards at this point in time. I am relatively new to the Land of Pinterest.
I am shocked to find out that they do "Pinned for you" pins. That hasn't happened to me. If it does, can I delete them? It seems creepy to me.

I'm sorry, that should have said PICKED for you, not pinned. Most of the time they are some what related to things I pin but I follow enough people that I don't need this.

I did unsubscribe from all the notifications so that I don't hear every time someone pins or likes something I pinned. My inbox was getting flooded. But I don't think I unsubscribed from all emails, because I do sometimes enjoy the boards they suggest that I might enjoy.
It's their tendency to keep suggesting one in particular over and over and over, day after day that is getting annoying. Or "picking" pins for me that I have already pinned.

Something has changed with Pinterest, but I can't quite figure it out. Like Facebook, I don't think it's showing all new pins either. That is a bummer that they keep suggesting the same thing over and over for you. I would email them!

You can get rid of all of the "picked for you" stuff. I'm on my phone and I can't explain it without going on the site, but I'll come back when I'm on my computer.

I did email them and complained about the pinned for you pins coming up. They said they are trying it out and are waiting to see if people do or do not like it. So let them know!

That would be annoying to have the same board suggested to you over and over. I've never had that happen, but I do get suggested pins that I've already pinned. That is dumb.

If you hover over the right side of the box that says:
Picked for you
(name of board)
There is an "x." Click on the "x."
It will give you the option of hiding that particular pin, or of hiding all of the "picked for you" pins for a particular board.

I like the emails that I get from Pinterest. They show up about once a week and are usually pretty inspiring. If not, I just delete. I've never had a problem with recurring pinners -- that might bug me.

I turned off all notifications because I found them so annoying. It's like Instagram and Flickr which keep on trying to get me to follow random people. Starts to feel really intrusive.

I clicked "hide all pins picked for you". Eventually they have all stopped showing up. The "picked for you" pin shows which of your boards they are trying to match. After clicking "hide all" on each of my boards they are GONE!
I was getting sick of all the garbage that they picked for me that had nothing to do with my interests.

I agree - I hate when they "pick" something for me that I've pinned a long time ago. It takes up time and space revisiting old territory.

I don't mind the picked for you pins. It's just that there are so many of them.
It's more than half of my feed.
If it were just a couple here and there, I'd be fine with it.
It's also not smart. I have a girl scout board for stuff I do with my troop for my daughter and it keeps suggesting boy scout stuff.
I don't want to turn it completely off because I have seen a couple of things that I like.
It's also not christmas anymore and no one is pinning xmas stuff except the "picked for you" algorithm.
So annoying.
Thanks for this rant!
I might just turn them all off. If I want to look for something, I will just search.
