...and how much do you use yours?
Now that I've discovered that I love them in my lunch (let it cool before packing), I think it's something my guys and I will use a lot!
Any recommendations?

I fully intend to buy this one in the next week or two. And it has a waffle iron plate you can buy too! A friend has it and she loves that it cleans really well since the plates can go in the dishwasher. Cuisinart 4 n 1

I use a hand press and a skillet. Much cheaper and easier to store that another small appliance. Before I bought our hand press, we used a clay brick completely covered in aluminum foil.

I have a panini press that just, well, presses panini (maybe you could use it as a griddle, I do not know, but it does not have plates that change out and the directions did not include any other features). It is an old (ten years+) model Cuisinart one. We use it all the time -- I won't make a sandwich for myself without it. The only complaint I have is that it is too big to leave out on the counter, so I have to take it out every time I use it. Still, worth it.

I bought it about six months ago and use it at least three times a week. It also works great to grill chicken if you pound it out to an equal thickness first. I don't put the plates in the dishwasher. I just wash them by hand. Either way, it's super easy to clean. I just bought the waffle plates and they're great too.

I have the Cuisinart 4 in 1 that Polargreen12 posted above. I think I've had mine for at least 8 years.
I love making panini. I also use my Cuisinart for pancakes, eggs and French toast. I grill burgers, steaks, shrimp, boneless chicken breasts and various grilled vegetables (especially onions) indoors when the weather is too cold to grill outside.
I use it more than I thought I would, but agree it is a larger appliance that does take up counter space.

DH got me the Breville one a few Christmases ago. Ended up returning it to Williams-Sonoma because it always smelled like melting wires. But the sandwiches were tasty!

We have just a regular Cuisinart Panini maker. We use it on and off, although prob not much different than the grilled sandwiches we make, except faster and more even heat to make 4 at a time. If I could, I would have had the 4-in-1 for more flexibility. We have made chicken breasts in ours, that is the only thing besides Panini's that we have done. We have taken leftover sandwiches we have made in it and I really like them!

I use an iron skillet and a new red brick covered in foil. Just don't have room to add yet another appliance to my cupboard.

I have a specific panini press, it is a President's Choice brand. I really like it. I have a separate waffle maker and George Foreman grill for meats.
I don't use it weekly, but have made good use of it in the five years or so that I've had it. We tend to use it more in the cooler weather months. It is the only way I do grilled cheese sandwiches now, and I especially love using it for reubens. I have never regretted getting it or finding extra space to store it.

I have s small George Foreman grill someone gave me years ago that we use for making paninis. It's only big enough for 1 sandwich at a time, but it works well I don't have room to store another appliance.

I have the same one and love if except it's a pain to clean! I've tried all the tips and tricks and it still leaves grease spots on it. Even when I run it in the dishwasher.

We have the cuisinart 4 in 1. I got it for my DH for Christmas. We have used it quite a bit. We make paninis and other sandwiches on it. The other night I used the panini plates and made chicken quesadillas for dinner. we have made pancakes on it many times as well. I think we will be getting the waffle plates soon and get rid of our waffle maker (although we have one that is Mickey Mouse shaped I will keep because it is so cute!) It was definitely a good purchase for us.
