What do you ladies do with all of the leftover photos that come in the portrait packages from school, professional packages, etc.? You know you have them. Nowadays we try to be a little wiser making sure we only order what we need but there was a time when we all thought we needed that huge package so every uncle and third cousin could have a picture of precious Junior.
I'm working on clearing out the clutter and I really need yall's input.
Thanks a bushel!

I've scrapped them, put them in little frames and hung them on the Christmas tree, used them as labels on file folders and boxes containing school work, used them in school projects, laminate for a key chain, taken several to the office for my bulletin board there, and clipped them into cards going to out relatives and friends.
I use them most in scrapping, though. Timelines, collages, general stories, etc.

Thanks. Definitely going to have to use some in timeline form. My oldest turns 18 next month and those are the ones I have the most of!

Keep. There are lots of times that I use old extras for projects.

I definitely keep them, since once they're gone, getting reprints can be tough.
I scrap one for each year and the rest just go in an envelope in the closet.
I did buy two of those laser cut template thingies that you can put one wallet for each year on the page. My older son was a senior last year, so I put his together last year. Highly recommend that. Made for a really cool page, seeing him change over the course of 13 years.

If you have an 8 x 10 of kindergarten, frame it and have your senior holding the picture in their cap and gown. It is my favorite photo I took that day.

We're not at that point yet, but I think I'll probably only order the school picture packages that have 5x7 and smaller for that very reason. We don't have too many extended relatives around anymore who will want them anyway. But I would keep the extras. Like others mentioned, you'd have a hard time getting one later if you toss them. Better to have and not need than need and not have. For our professional family portraits, we've only ever gotten the proof CDs so we could print off the images we want as needed. We never ordered print packages.

We did something similar last summer, we took one of our wedding photos and framed it in a silver frame, and had DD hold it in the foreground with us looking at her in the background for our 25th anniversary family portraits. It turned out so cute!

I think I'll have both of mine do that, since one graduated from high school last June, and the other graduated from middle school. Thank you for the idea!

I scrap one in the school albums, and keep the rest in the envelopes.
I figure some day I might want to scrap them another way. Or maybe the kids will want them once they're adults.
