...so I bought a few pieces to the Rubbermaid lunch cube sets and I love them. I was really hoping to find the ziploc divided lunch sets but they don't sell them in Canada... BOO!
My new problem... how the heck to I pack a lunch that will keep me full for 4 hours?
Today I had about two cups of romaine and spinach with an egg cut in and dressing, about 10 sweet potato wheat thins, a cheese string and a banana and three hours later my stomach was growling loud enough to hear it across the room.
Guess I need more protein?!?

I just bought a set of those containers at Costco for my kids lunches. They were so cute, I couldn't resist!
I know that it doesn't matter how much I eat at lunch, 3-4 hours later, I'm needing a snack. Could you pack an extra string cheese or yogurt as an afternoon snack? Or maybe some nuts or dried fruit to munch on to curb the growling?

Why do you need to stay full for 4 hours? Can you pack a snack like almonds or cheese stick to eat about 2 hours after lunch?

More protein might help, but you also might not be used to/able to go four hours without feeling a bit hungry. It might take some time for your body to adjust if you aren't used to eating every 2-3 hours. If you are unable to grab a quick bit for a snack 2-3 hours after your lunch, can you chew gum/drink water?

My new job is in a peanut free factory and I'm honestly not sure if there will be time on breaks to get back to my locker. I may start keeping a some dried fruit or something in a pocket to see if that helps. Tomorrow I'm going to try turkey sandwiches to see if that helps. Ashley, I'm a snacker and am definitely not used to going 4 hours without food, lol.

Protein is my go to for that... Carbs and dairy either make me sleepy or hungry in a few hours, proteins seem to last that bit longer... I'm also trying to switch to eating something smaller every 3-4 hours, and making sure some sort of protein is part of that helps...

What type of factory do you work for? I ask because I briefy worked in a food package factory and I had to take many breaks because of the inside temperature (37°) when I took those breaks I ate a tangerine.

When I went back to work full-time, I had a heck of a time with the eating schedule. Now, I'm used to it but I need to eat a protein and complex carb filled breakfast to last me until 12:30 and I need at least 3 oz of lean protein plus veggies and fruit at lunch. I bring a snack (usually a handful of almonds) for the days I can't make it between lunch and supper. These are self-imposed rules as I could eat whenever I wanted to at work, but I make really bad choices when it comes to snacking so I follow a no-snack rule at work. I would be down in the cafeteria every hour grabbing a cookie or a scone!

My first week is complete and I have realized I have nothing to worry about. We do get breaks and not only that, because it's about a 5 minute process to get to the break room, they add in travel time there and back, lol. This is SO different that my previous place of employment. Now the only problem is to get serious about packing healthier lunches and snacks, ha.

I like a salad for lunch but it's got to have more to it than greens and one egg. Try mixing your proteins. I do chicken and feta on a salad. Sometimes I'll throw in some cut up lunch meat. Think more chefs salad than side salad. My favorite lunch salad is spring mix greens with crasins, sliced almonds, cubed grilled chicken, feta cheese, and a honey mustard dressing. Notice how much protein there is in there. Several different types. It fills me up and is slower digesting so I'm not so hungry later.
