I've never liked The Californians... It depends on who's doing the accent. Bradley Cooper.

I've never liked The Californians... If you're really good at the accent, then I love it. If you're not… It's just stupid… Cough cough… Taylor Swift.

They could have done a lot but that's a lot of years. Could have done without Kayne, and Miley. I guess it goes with times?! Like Paul Simon but boy he was rough to listen to.Not to bad overall though. I am really surprised Jimmy Fallon didn't do something, he was there.

I was sad to hear Tracy Morgan is still recovering from his car accident. Chevy Chase did not look good. Anyone remember years ago, there was a black lady who was a cast member (Ellen Cleghorne)? She played an NBC page? She was so funny! I think that was her in the audience that was asking where all the black ladies were.

I've never liked The Californians… We've been to California once. I think we spent time on the beach with several of them. Talking about the highways you take must be a normal thing to do??

Did tonight's show mention how many cast members have gone throughout SNL in 40 years? When you look at who/how many have made a career outside of SNL, the odds are pretty good.

I wish they did "Coffee Talk" - that's one of my favorites. Also, a cheerleader skit would've been cool too. Really don't understand why Kanye had to be there and why he was given so much air time for whatever that was that he was doing. I also wish Miley Cyrus didn't sing one of my fav songs, I'll give her credit, she did a good job, but I just can't stand her.

Jimmy did the opening with Timberlake.

I enjoyed watching last night's show. I found myself laughing out loud several times. Love Jeopardy and Alex Trebek (Will Ferrell) . Betty White and Bradley Cooper, too funny!

I loved Jeopardy the most. It seemed to me toward the end that it was a TON of commercials. One shortish skit, then 5 minutes of commercials.
Eddie Murphy was a huge letdown.
Wayne's World - was great also.

Ok, some of the speed clips were just too fast for us! Like, slow it down, willya? DH really got me going during the Jeopardy skit. "Sean Connery" -- I'LL TAKE WHORE ADS FOR 50, and oh I forget the other one but this cracked us up him more than me. He'd start up again, laughing, and I'd be like QUIT! And of course, now those two lines are all over FB so it's losing its luster. Anyway it didn't really get any funnier after that. I haven't watched SNL this century, I think, so I totally did not get the California skit. They talk like that? (I know it's exaggerated, but I just didn't get it.) What have I missed that someone here can esplain to me? Nevermind, I guess it's adult Valley-Speak. Agree on Chevy.

Loved the Jeopardy bits last night! Who reads = whore ads and Let it Snow = le tits now (it's French! ) The Californians does make me laugh as long as they get the accents right. Sadly we do spend too much time talking about how to get from point A to B. DH is in LA a couple of times a week and when he is on his way home, he almost always tells me the route (110 or 710 to the 405, etc.) and if traffic is really bad, will phone and ask me to look at the traffic on his alternates.

Ditto that about the Californians. To me, it isn't the accent, although I do find that kind of funny, but the fact that when I am in SoCal, which is about 2 weeks out of every month, people talk endlessly not just about the traffic, but explain which route they took, or are planning to take, and everyone else gives suggestions for alternative routes.

There was some discussion online about Eddie Murphy. The question was why the big intro by Chris Rock only to have Eddie talk for 75 seconds. The answer being either he wasn't paid enough to be on the show or he feels his comedic career was 25 years ago and he doesn't want to ruin his "legend" by doing a skit that may not be seen as funny.
I was totally shocked by seeing Bradly Cooper kiss Betty White. lol Otherwise the California skit wasn't funny. I recognized some of the places they talked about so it would only be funny to people who know LA, but also their accents were dumb.
I also realized that I just don't find SNL that funny in general.

the old stuff was much better.. I think the Eddie Murphy thing was a little weird. He just seemed really uncomfortable.

Okay, I really don't get The Californians. I was thinking they were parodying the telenovellas? I no longer watch SNL because after watching it for 3 decades, through good and bad, I realized there was just too much that I didn't find funny.

I agree that some of the clips needed to be sloowwwed down!!! I wonder if Chevy Chase has emphysema---it was sad that it seemed difficult for him to get enough air ...! When Paul McCartney sang, it was a bummer not to be able to hear his voice very well over the instruments....wondered if it was because their mics were off---just like the Grammys? Did anyone else fear that Kanye would rush up to the stage and say something horrible to Maya Rudolph about her imitation of his "Queen B" (is that what he calls Beyonce?) Just think---this was a LIVE show---he could've REALLY had a MOMENT....(said sarcastically). Will Ferrelll--LOVE him!!!!!!!....Cowbell and Jeopardy and the music teachers with Anna Gasteyer!!! I like "The Californians"; but this one went on wayyy too long.....it cracks me up the way they talk about the routes they take, etc...and some of you have confirmed that it's based on reality....funny!!! Oh, and Taylor Swift's accent---it made me nervous for her....you could tell she was trying sooo hard! Would've LOVED to see more Adam Sandler----his Opera Man song was wayy too short. Also hoped David Spade would do his skit where he was a snobby receptionist ...."and you are.....?"

I watched a little bit of the show and asked my husband if "Stewart (look what I can do)" showed up, but realized that was MAD TV. I think MAD TV was better..
