The "T" is the slang for the public transportation system in MA.

That is so funny! I live in Worcester, an hour west of Boston. It is the 2nd largest city in New England. Here in Worcester people do mark their spots for an undetermined time. In the past I have even seen people keep their chairs or cones out well into spring which is of course ridiculous. Some people really seem entitled to their spot.
We have been marking our spots since the first snow storm and will continue marking them until the parking ban is lifted. There have been no parking spot fights (at least in our neighborhood) yet and I think the spot marking helps keep the peace. Of course it is completely different in Boston which I am sure has way fewer spots available.
Regarding the 2nd about people jumping out of windows. I will admit my kids have been jumping off the swing set and the front porch. They were jumping off the picnic table, but that is completely covered in snow now. Can't even see it!
Here's a little non-snow Boston humor. I am from the mid-west and do not have an accent, my dh however was born and bred right outside of Boston. I was reading "Make Way for Ducklings" yesterday to my little ones. I was reading about the ducklings walking to the Public Garden and my 7 year old says: "Actually I think it's called the Public Gahden." I laughed and laughed!

Makes me sad the Mayor even has to say this...... Though I am not surprised.

Yes, some of those people are really idiotic. Diving head first into the snow? Stupid. Jumping from 2nd story windows. Stupid.
Most of the videos were people jumping feet first from 1st story windows. They could do that safely without any snow. That isn't a big deal...assuming you are familiar with the area and know what is under the snow. Of course I would only do it fully dressed in all my snow gear, not in just a bathing suit!
