I am trying to figure out a better system for organizing my large size letter stickers. I currently have them in a plastic accordian file with a handle, but I've outgrown in. It's tearing and I can no longer close it. I like it because I have my stickers separated by color. So I'm thinking some type of box because it needs to be sturdy, but I also want to be able to sort them by color. I need it big enough to hold my 12 x 12 sheets. I'd also like it to be pretty! Any suggestions?

Does it need to be portable?

I have something like this that's wide enough for 12x12 papers & sticker sheets. I use it for my patterned paper, specialty paper like printed vellums and large sticker sheets. I use chipboard to separate different items and to support everything so there's no curling. As my stash dwindled, I used a small box to push everything forward so it's easier to look through all the sheets. It's prettier than a cropper hopper paper holder, which is where I kept all this before, it slides under the table and it's easy to flip through everything.

Would a basket work? Or those 13x13 fabric bins ikea carries to fit the Expedit/Kallax? You could make some dividers out of chipboard covered in patterned paper to separate the colors. Stand them up and then you can just thumb through them all.

Does it need to be portable? No, it does not need to be portable. I have a scrap room, so I don't have to move it around. And I take out what I need for page kits when I go to a crop.

I keep extra page protectors in one, and it's a little flimsy. Maybe the ones at Ikea are better. I'll have to check them out. Or maybe they have plastic ones. Thanks for the idea!

I would just need to find the right size and color. Do you know where you got yours?

I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond but I am sure they have something similar at Target, Kohls, etc. It came in several sizes. I use a small one for my thickers and the large one for my papers & sticker sheets.

Do you mean 12x12? I keep mine vertically in a jetmax cube from Michaels. The ones with the 5 "shelves"...if you turn them sideways, it turns into 5 vertical divisions so that your sections can be better supported. It works really well. I have them sorted by manufacturer primarily, and have all 12x12 sticker sheets sorted this way, not just letters.

I use a basket that I got from Michaels that is almost like a nearly flat string weave over a metal frame. They seem to keep getting them in seasonal colors, so they must be popular. It is approx 6" H x 6" W x 10" deep. It fits my thickers perfectly (and anything narrower, of course) and I have them on the top of a low shelf so I can flip through them easily. Love it and I was able to fit in a ton since it was so deep. Unless you really have a ton of 12x12 sheets, why not keep those separate in a wider container that they could be upright in? I don't like keeping stuff like that flat, so I don't have to take everything out to go through...I like to just be able to flip thorugh. For my wider items, I use vintage locker baskets and I found a couple of the same style baskets that I used for my thickers in a larger 13"x13"x8" size.

Yeah, I think so. Especially if you put a piece of chipboard on the bottom to make it a bit sturdier. THey have kind of a wire-like piece that goes around them so they're a bit sturdier than if they were just all fabric. Ikea also makes some boxes that fit that Expedit that are a hard cardboard and have a lid on top. That might work for you too, especially if you keep the lid off b/c I think some stickers will stick out of the top. Or you could shop around the basket area at Hobby Lobby or Michael's and find one that is about 13" wide where you can stand them up. I have some smoother weaved ones I bought at Hobby Lobby that work great for keeping current projects in. I stand my kits in kit bags up in them and I like that I can move them around or even take them with me to a crop. Letter stickers would work great in the ones I have, so you might just need to take a measuring tape and go on the hunt

What I was thinking about was a desktop vertical file folder thing. I have a wooden one that has one compartment, and is probably 5" deep, maybe 10" high and 13" wide or so. Kind of like the one in this link at Home Depot, only made of wood. This one is 12.5" wide x 5.5" deep by almost 10" tall. The stickers could stand up in it vertically, and you could make dividers from chipboard or use maybe those Cropper Hopper pocket things with the tabs on top. You could put partially used sheets inside the pockets so you think to use those up first. File organizer

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm going out shopping tomorrow, so I'll see what I can find. I like the idea of a sturdy basket or box. I'll let you all know what I come up with!

I have just re purposed a couple of the project life page protector boxes for lettering which is 12x12. My intention is to cover said boxes with paper to indicate colour of the lettering inside. They fit quite a few of the 12x12 sheets. For my thickers I use an old filing system which is metal ( larger than a library file.....holds 5x7 photos) anyway......the thickers fit perfectly lengthwise on their side, so I can put the drawer out and flick through them. They are heavy as, so not portable atcall
