ETA - DH doesn't drink, likes to hunt/fish, not much in the way of hobbies. He has Harley and Jeep that he just started customizing. If case anyone wanted more info

Happy upcoming anniversary! We will probably skip the gifts and go straight for the grand trip...most likely Italy (If we can afford it.) I know not all can do that, but I'd shoot for at least a weekend getaway...if you DH likes to travel at all.

For our 25th, I bought hubby a watch that has his car logo on it and looks like the instrumentation of the dash. He LOVES it. Happy Anniversary!

Our 25th is next January. We won't get each other anything, like almost every other year.

It's a joint milestone/celebration, we would plan a fun event/trip/experience that we would both enjoy.

For our 25th anniversary, it was right before DH got sick. I got him a cuckoo clock! He had always admired my grandmother's clock so I got him one. He got me a diamond and sapphire necklace.

My 25th is also coming up VERY soon. We are taking a trip together and do not plan to exchange other gifts. We will probably look for a piece of art to bring back. We always do that when we travel.
With this post, I need to make sure that DH knows not to buy me anything. We don't normally exchange gifts for anniversaries so I don't expect this one to be any different. The trip is gift enough for both of us.

We skipped the gifts and went on a trip to San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma.
Our 30th is in two years and we're starting to plan a special trip for that.

Our 25th was last November. We went out for a special meal. Our gift to each other is that we are going to Portugal this summer.

Our 25th came and went.........I'd like to do a trip sometime, but we're both working so on a guess there won't be a trip for quite awhile.
A trip sounds like fun!

Our 25th is in August. We're doing a road trip to see family in TN & NC, then flying to NYC for a few days, then road trip home.
Originally it was supposed to be my big trip to Prague and Eastern Europe. My husband won't travel there currently.

Thanks peas for the well wishes and suggestions for a trip.
Given our time constraint this year (his mother just passed and his father is waiting for the weather to get warmer before he determines a celebration of life for her) I don't think we will be having a trip this year. For the past 5 years we have done other trips nothing as grand as overseas. I did do a Paris/London trip two years ago with my mother and would love to take dh back to at least London. I am actually encouraging him to take a trip with his father this year since his dad was the caretaker for so long and I feel it's important that his dad get away and would be best done with his son since he is my FIL's only child left.
I probably should plan a dinner of some sort. We don't normally exchange gifts but this year dh will be buying me an anniversary ring so I guess I just didn't want to be empty handed.
I do think a bigger trip is warranted down the road though.

Happy 25th! Maybe, due to your responsibilities around home, you could just go out for a nice dinner. Make a reservation and dress up. If you know he's buying you a special ring, what about a Harley clock for his workshop? or something related to his interests? Harley Davidson has many products now that relate to all different [other] interests.

Happy Anniversary! DH and I celebrated 25 years last summer by hosting a big party at our lake place with all of our friends and it was a blast! We had so much fun because many of the people who came had also attended our wedding. We also went to Disneyworld with our DD (it was her first trip there) later in the year and it was magical.
