in case this has not be mentioned before....My sams club has Fiestaware now. I go there weekly ( although, I did not make it there last week) and this is the 1st time I have seen it there. They only had the 5pc place settings. They had multiple colors and each set was just under $25 ( I think it was like 24.48 or something close to that) A good price if you needed some sets and could not find a sale.
Just thought I would share!

That's good to hear. My SIL wants some. We'll have to watch for it at ours.

That's a good price if you buy sets. Many people buy by the set. I buy mine by the piece however because I don't want or use cups, mugs etc and if I buy individually I get to pick the size plates and bowls I want and use.

For me, When I priced everything, it was cheaper for me to get the set. Does our house need 16 mugs, No. But, buying just the dinner plate and bowl would of cost more than ordering the 4pc sets when I got them on sale a few months ago from Kohls.

Lucky girl: no Fiestaware at our Sam's. Bummer, Sorry! Maybe they just have not gotten them in yet? Did you ask at customer service? Sometimes they will have stuff in the back that they are waiting to put out in place of something else that has not sold out yet. Example... Before christmas my sams ( the one I go to regularly) had kites, I saw them and thought that would be the perfect gifts for my cousins 5 kids. We have a kite festival here in the spring. So I went home, Called my aunt to make sure the kids did not already have big fancy kites like these, went back to My sams 4 days later, they were ALL OUT! ugh. So I called around. Another sams not that far away said yes, We have them, They are in the back. We are waiting for more of our christmas toys to sell before we put them out, But I will sell you 5. Come on up. So I ended up getting what I needed before christmas. So my point is that, there is SOMEONE in your store that knows what is in the holding area in the back, just waiting to be pulled out to the floor.

That kind of makes me think Fiesta jumped the shark. How is sam's selling Fiestaware 5pc sets ( that is all they have) any different than Kohls selling it? both are Major retailers... I dont see the difference.

Sam's = Walmart. I guess it just seems to cheapen it a bit. If I saw it there, I would totally buy it though! LOL

The fiesta that I have bought, I also bought only what I wanted. I don't like the mugs or the coffee cups in the sets. I also don't like the bowls that come in the sets. I bought square plates, square salad plates and a couple of bowls that are the perfect size for what we typically need. I got it all on sale and it was definitely much much cheaper than buying the set for only the dinner and salad plates.

If you don't see it stocked at your local store check online. I'll sometimes do the whole click and pull online ordering option with them and Target. I've even seen some really great online offers that aren't in store and come with free shipping.

Fiesta ware has been around since 1936, I'm not sure that it will ever jump the shark. 79 years and going strong! Even if, for some reason, people stopped buying it, after almost a century of being featured on tables around the country, it would have been more popular than any other ceramic dishware.

That kind of makes me think Fiesta jumped the shark. Or being true to its roots. In the 1930s, Fiesta was marketed to the new working middle class, and was sold in budget department stores. Fiesta's sister line, Harlequin, was created for Woolworth's dime stores. There were other colorware lines that came in detergent boxes or were given away as store promotions. Anybody remember when the reissue Fiesta was sold exclusively at Bloomingdales (1986-87)? It never really fit their niche, and they eventually abandoned it. There's a range of retailers now, but none is high end - which is why the new $250 cookie jars and $170 lemonade dispensers seem to be such truly odd choices. Even the diehard collectors don't want that stuff. (Yes, I have arcane dinnerware knowledge. )

I do not collect vintage, just P86 and really want a dancing lady cookie jar! For now the only vintage I want in a complete intack origional syrup dispenser. $$$$$

I want to be able to afford a $5k piece of Fiesta. Not that I'd spend that much on a piece, but I'd like to have the bank account that would let me!

LOL, I get the feeling some of you are like me. I'd rather have a special piece of fiesta, or depression glass, than jewelry...but... shelling out $5K would spoil the thrill of the hunt. Good thing I don't have to face this dilemma.
