On a whim, I said to dh...wanna go on a cruise...and it's a scrapbook cruise too? (He knows I like TC stuff) He said sure! I didn't ask twice and we signed up Sunday. I must admit it was a great deal. And we hope to be able to SCUBA!
Just wondering if there are any folks on the board that have attended the other two cruises? Or anyone going on the 2015 cruise? Looking for ideas of what scrap related tools/stuff I should bring? Stuff you brought but didn't need? I want to pack as lightly as possible. Thanks!

Sounds like fun. My Alaska cruise had a scrapbook class on one of the at-sea days.

I Googled it, and the basic price of the cruise didn't include the price of TC's classes, so read the fine print. I think if I remember correctly that her price is about $300.

I was looking at one of the scrapbooking cruises Embellish It was doing but couldn't quite get comfortable with the idea of lugging my supplies on board with me.
If you have done an SB cruise, how did you deal with packing?

I think with the TC cruise, it's more like specific workshops. You only have the workshops on the days you are at sea. TC provides all the product and what you need for each workshop. So it sounds like you really only need to pack the basics and not everything you would normally do for a crop. I'm wondering if Embellish It is the same concept?

Looks like the Embellish It cruise has two crafting days (both at sea days). Two classes will be offered and you have access to crop space the entire cruise. 2 Classes are included - taught by Shelby Dredge of embellish IT! Types of classes: Scrapbooking layout Mini Album 24/7 Open Art Studio with a minimum of 4-feet of workspace per participant - you can leave your things set-up at the table for the duration of the cruise! No need to waste time cleaning up. Goodie Bags All meals are included plus there are many Specialty Restaurants to try out (Cover Charge is additional) Surprises Galore! Embellish It Scrapping Cruise

I don't think I'd like that, even though I love Shelby and the Embellish It classes. I have two friends who went on a scrapping cruise a few years ago (I can't remember who it was through), but it was almost all workshop and class-based. the classes were on at sea days only so that the rest of the cruise was spent enjoying the ports. They packed very light - just trimmers, scissors, adhesive, ruler, etc. Very basic tool kit. Then they took the classes and could go in the classroom during free time to finish up those projects. They came home with a lot of stuff, so you'd have to keep that in mind and save room in your luggage! Plus pack a small paper taker or something to keep layouts from getting smushed. It sounds like the Teresa Collins one is similar, but not quite as class-heavy.

I have been on several different types, and I prepared differently for each one. One week Alaska cruise with scrapmap.com with Teresa as the teacher. Brought a basic tool kit that fit into my suitcase. Received a pizza-sized box from Teresa with all supplies for the classes. Classes were held on at sea days, and I really didn't have any free time to do any extra scrapbooking. One week Mexican scrapbook cruise organized by a local store. Lived close enough that I could drive to the Los Angeles port. Brought my rolling tote with all page kits completely organized so that the tote was much lighter than normal. Left all supplies in the locked scrapbook room all week. Traveled with several friends so we spent many nights scrapbooking in the crop room. Flew to Las Vegas for Memory Expo (three day event??). Packed my rolling tote with pre-planned kits for the evening crops. Checked the tote in as luggage. My friend was afraid to check her tote in, and she was actually able to lift her tote up into the overhead bin. Don't recommend it though because she almost dropped it on someone's head.

LOL, I resemble that! Back before 9-11-01. One would never be able to haul all that crap in a roll-aboard bag nowadays.
