I have a great DSLR. However, I also like to carry a small digital camera in my purse. Mine got dropped and broken on Christmas Day. I really hate taking pics with my cell phone. I do NOT want a new phone, I want a new pocket sized camera.
Unfortunately, it seems as though quality control is pretty poor these days, and most of the small digital cameras seem to get a significant number of bad reviews.
Anyone here have a great small little camera that they would like to recommend, please?

I have a Samsung WB 350 I carry in my purse. I picked it up for 150.00 at Sams's Club back in November. I'm happy with it.

I love my DSLRs but when I don't want to carry a heavy camera and gear, I throw my canon G12 in my purse. I usually shoot with a nikon D300 or D800. There are cheaper little point and shoot cameras but the G12 has some things that I am used to working with such as being able to shoot RAW. They have a newer model now. Mine is still going strong but if it ever dies I would get another in a second.

I am wanting a camera that is simple to use but still will focus for the far away shots and a real close up (like a rain drop on a flower) that is easy to use...is there such a camera?
I see so many wonderful pictures on here , beautiful shots and think they must have used a real good camera with lenses that change out.
I am very intimidated by those and was hoping there was one out there that I would not have to do that.

I bought the Canon sx700 a cpuple of months ago. I haven't had much cause to use it so far (bit of a photography drought for me at the moment ) but I am pretty happy with the shots I have taken so far.

I am very intimidated by those and was hoping there was one out there that I would not have to do that. I am not a great photographer and I do not use a dslr, but I take a lot of photos of my grandchildren. I have a little fugifilm jx500 that I keep in my purse. I have had it for a long time and it has taken a lot of abuse and keeps on working unlike some high end p&s that I have broken. I am using it for my primary camera right now because another p&s stopped working. (I got a refund but haven't replaced it yet) I love it for outdoor and good light indoor stuff. But indoor low light, I'm not sure any camera that will fit in your purse will have a flash that will get you a decent pic. I tried to use it last weekend at the bowling alley for a family event and did not get 1 pic that I could use. Fortunately, I had also taken a few with my dh dslr that were good.
