Help me out please. I need to know the inside dimensions of one of the squares. If you also happen to have one of the inserts, either the door or drawer unit, I could use the inside dimensions of that too. TIA.

I'm not at home, so I can't give you it right now, but if you don't have the measurements by the time I get home, I'll get out the tape! I store 12x12 papers in one of the pull-out plastic boxes, and I know that the door unit fits inside a square so the inner space is smaller.

What Debby posted is what I got when I measured mine! BUT the Iris boxes that hold 12x12 paper don't fit!!

Thanks Debby, that helps a lot. I want it to hold paper but I'd like to use the door insert so it doesn't get dusty that why I was wondering about the inside dimensions.

I bought some of the drawer inserts a couple of weeks ago and they fit perfectly in my Expedite, so I think that the doors inserts would work as well.

The old Cropper Hopper Paper Keepers are 1/4" too tall for the Expedit, but there is a newer style, released about a year ago, that will fit in the Expedit.
Sorry I can't help you with the insert--I use some rattan milk crates from Target that work really well. But I have the old Paper Keepers, so they are on a different shelf. I just have too many to completely get new Keepers. Plus my Expedit is full, any way.

Keep in mind they don't sell the expedit anymore and I thought I read that the kallax system that replaced it had slightly different dimensions.

I have both the Kallax (just bought it for my son's playroom) and the Expedit if I can help in any way. Though you should be able to find Kallax dimensions on the Ikea website. |

The inside dimensions of the Kallax are exactly the same as the Expedit. What is different is they reduced the outside dimensions by about 1/4 of an inch.
The instructions that come with the doors are online. No measurements (that I recall) but it might give you an idea about fit. Also the door construction is different between the kallax doors and the expedit doors.

I had to trim all of my cropper hoppers down 1/4" to fit into the Expedit. It was actually pretty easy. I opened them up, used a razor knife and straight edge, then folded them back up. After a little surgery they fit perfectly.  |
