Hi peas! So I'm starting to get a collection of scrapbook albums after 3 years of scrapping. I just have them stuck in random areas in my apartment. How do you store them? What is a good shelving system that will fit the height of an album? What's your system? Thanks!!!!

I have two ladder shelves that I got from Lowe's. They no longer sells them, but they have the perfect sized shelves (deep) and they are 13 inches apart at each shelf. I can store 30-35 albums on each ladder shelf. I keep pictures on the top shelves right now.

The IKEA Expedit (now called Kallax? I think) works great for my albums....I have the 2x4 version, so 8 cubbies and I can fit 4 albums per cubby.

rambolina - Be sure to take one of your albums with you to IKEA to make sure they fit. I haven't checked out the Expedit replacement. My WRMK just fit in the Expedit.

12x12 SBs do fit into the Kallaxm at least the AC and WRMK brand ones... I have a 2x2 (4 spaces total) one I recently bought to get my SBs out of my scrap room and downstairs into our 'living' area so that we can actually look at the albums every once in a while-- no one would ever look at them when they were stuck upstairs in my craft room, that's for sure. (not even me; I would just stack my completed layouts into an Iris box!)

Ikea also makes a Billy bookcase that is wider than their average Billy bookcase-it's 15" depth instead of their usual 11"-sadly I just checked their website and no longer see it listed so they may have discontinued it.
I've also heard of a Pea who used their Besta system of shelves to store her scrapbooks.
If you do go to Ikea, it's a great idea to take one of your scrapbooks with you and look at all of the bookcases and shelf systems just in case they've gotten in something new that might work. That way you can consider all of the options before making a choice. Hope that helps.

I have two Pottery Barn Studio Wall Shelves in my craft room that house supplies; 12x12 albums will fit on the bottom three shelves & 8.5x11 (or smaller sizes) on all five shelves. HTH.

When I put my Christmas decor away, I was tired of all my old stuff so I tried to do something different with my small scrapbooks. This is how it turned out. I think they are so pretty and I am glad to have them where I can see them. This pic is small but if you click on it, you can see it bigger. Attachments:
