Today we received our monthly Costco coupon book and I noticed a couple of vacation deals, which got me looking at their vacation options. Does anyone have experience using Costco? Their prices seem almost too good to be true (I was looking at all inclusive in Mexico with flights). If not Costco, any other suggestions for all inclusive deals.
I'm really hoping I can pull-off a fun family vacation in the summer.

We booked a Hawaii trip. We stayed at a Marriott property in Waikiki and airfare was included. It was an easy bookings and no problems with the reservations. I'd go through Costco again.

We booked a Disneyland trip through Costco last year. Everything was absolutely perfect. The hotel was great and and we received everything offered in the package. I would certainly book another trip through Costco.

Disney Cruise... Was easy and they gave me Costco Cash for using them. I'd highly recommend them.

I booked a cruise through them and would not hesitate to book another vacation with them. No problems, great price. Their vacation insurance was inexpensive, too (thankfully we never had reason to use it.)

DS & DDIL did their Hawaii honeymoon through Costco--were happy with the trip. We looked into Costco for our upcoming trip. The first part of the trip is an 11 day tour through Italy. Costco & AAA (Trafalgar) offer the exact same trip, though Costco price is less by a small amount (I think less than $100). We are using our AAA travel agent (she is wonderful!) as the rest of the trip is on our own, she recommended and booked hotels, excursions, rail & plane travel between countries. Since we haven't travelled much, her help was invaluable. That said, in the future, we will definitely check Costco for future travel plans.

I suggested a coworker check it out. She did a side by side comparison of a Panama cruise through cruise line v. Costco. She saved $500 on the exact same cabin/itinerary by using Costco. She said everything was perfect.

I have booked 3 cruises thru them and would book no where else; at least for cruises! They always give the best prices and "freebies".
As an example, Royal Caribbean cruises rarely vary in price; they have strict control over pricing. So instead Costco will give you OBCs (on board credits to spend on board) and free stuff also. One cruise we received $300 OBC, Cupcake Decorating Class, Free Spa Treatment, Free cookbook, Wine & wine glasses and a Free Lunch & Dinner at one of the specialty restaurants that usually have a cover charge.
I would always check Costco before booking elsewhere.

We've booked 4 cruises through them with both Royal Carribean and NCL. In all cases, the price from Costco plus the perks were much better than we could've gotten by going direct.

We have done 3 Hawaii vacations thru Costco (2 to the Big Island and 1 to Kauai). They have awesome prices and we have always loved the resorts and extras that come with the packages. We also have booked Disneyland trips with them several times and always have had great experiences there too.
Our first trip to Hawaii, my husband came down with shingles 3 days before we were to leave, We were out of the change/cancel window on our package but Costco totally went above and beyond to save us the cancellation fees with the hotel. We ended up rescheduling that trip for a few months later.

Wow this is what I love about the peaboard, some random coupon book you would probably throw away thinking it's junk you find out people actually used it and it was a good deal!

We've done four trips with them and had nothing but perfection each time! We've been to Hawaii, Maui, Ireland and the Cook Islands. Couldn't beat the prices elsewhere. Dream trips, all of them and they are my go-to when planning a trip. I'm now keeping an eye on their Costa Rica trips.

I've booked all-inclusive Cancun vacations with Costco for the last 3 years and have no complaints whatsoever. I've used trip insurance once and it wasn't expensive at all. I booked my flights for the trips with them, as I couldn't beat the prices separately through the airlines. Also, I've gotten Costco gift cards with every trip and that's just an added bonus. We've stayed at The Omni and The Moon Palace and enjoyed both places. I would highly recommend Costco Travel, especially going to Cancun. We used their transportation at the airport to our resort, which was good, as there are plenty of scammers trying to sell you a timeshare but are pretending to be airport employees "helping you get a cab" to your resort.
Their prices are good and beat any other websites, the CS is great and I know that I'm in good hands with Costco.

I don't think you can go wrong with Maui. Lots and lots of great beaches. Kauai is my favorite island but might be too rainy for some folks depending on the time of your visit. If you do go to Kauai look into either Poipu (sunny part of the island) or Hanalei/Princeville (rainier but gorgeous tropical landscape). Lydgate park and beach would be perfect for your kids. Take a look at the Trip Advisor forum and the folks on the Hawaii section are very knowledgeable and can help to narrow down options.

I'm looking for a resort where dh and I can get some much needed relaxation and our 7 and 11 year old boys will have lots of fun things to do. Between the 2 resorts you've stayed, which do you think would be the best for us. I keep going back to check out the Moon Palace website, but (for whatever dumb reason) the name of the resort is making me question the place.

The Moon Palace has so many things for kids to do and was a great place to stay. The only negative about The Moon Palace is that the beach is on a reef, so the water is kind of a weird, murky color and it's got a ton of seaweed in it. You definitely don't want to swim in the water but it's cool to go on the reef and look at all the stuff living in it. The beach at the Omni is great, very blue and pretty but the tide is very hard and they usually have red warning flags up.
The Moon Palace has a higher ranking and the food/restaurants are amazing. Their alcohol selection is more varied and they have an nightclub. They have a teen club that seemed to be pretty popular. They have a ton of activities that appeal to kids. The nice thing about The Moon Palace is that there are 3 hotels right next to each other that are interrelated so you can go to the other hotels and eat and do activities there. You should look at the website for the hotel and see what it offers. The Moon Palace was more expensive than The Omni, as it's got a higher rating.
Having said that, we really enjoyed The Omni and went there two years in a row. The water is beautiful (but a rough surf) and there are things to do, if you want to do them. The restaurants are good, the alcohol is plentiful, though somewhat limited. Their poolside food was better and more plentiful that at The Moon Palace, which only had a buffet of a small variety and a restaurant where you could get a take out plate, The Omni has a taco hut, which the most amazing tacos, a sushi bar with tons of sushi (I don't eat sushi but my kids do) and a poolside bistro that has salads, sandwiches, wings, etc. You could also eat at the buffet at any of the meals.
I'd look at both websites and compare them. I use Trip Advisor whenever I plan a trip to really find out what people think of a hotel. I kind of figure that there are going to be some people that just give bad reviews, so a small percentage of bad reviews don't bother me too much. If there's a problem that is recurrent in the reviews, then that is a red flag. You can also tell when someone is looking to only pay for a bargain hotel but expecting five star quality, which isn't realistic.
I'd go back to Cancun in a minute, as I love that place so much!

@skellinton - I would say Maui too for younger kids and even as a first time trip for anyone. And I'm so glad I read this thread! I toss those magazines/brochures they send with the vacation info in them and now I'll check them out since you all recommend them. I can't wait to plan our next vacation now!

We just got back from a long weekend where we used Costco to book airfare and hotel in Vegas. We have no complaints and our suite was gorgeous.
