I love Shimelle, and I know she has Wonder Boy now and all but she hasn't posted in over a month. Usually when she's MIA for a bit she has guest designer's post, but not lately. I miss my new ideas and inspiration from Shimelle (and her guest bloggers)!!

Hi,
Shimelle had a post recently(maybe on Facebook)that she would be coming back from her one-year maternity leave soon(??), with new classes, videos, etc. Maybe she is busy filming videos and preparing those classes. I hope so because I have missed her.

I'm glad to hear she is coming back. I was wondering the same thing about her blog. She usually has great guest designers but I'm sure even that takes time for her to arrange, edit, post, etc.

I love her too. I have completely gotten out of the habit of even looking at her blog because since she's had her baby everything has been so sparse. A one year maternity leave would be wonderful I'm sure, I just hope it doesn't wind up hurting her business in the long run.

I think a one-year absence is long enough to lose a lot of momentum in this very fickle scrapbook business. It takes so long to build blog traffic, design classes, offer ideas and inspo, etc. Some folks' attention span can be notoriously short so I hope she's able to pickup where she left off. Lucky girl for the year-long paid maternity leave: here in America someone self-employed is responsible for their own time and finances and leave is unofficial, if anything. (I'm presuming Shimelle scrapbooks for a living since she hasn't mentioned having a job outside of scrapping).

I would assume, she is also making a substantial amount recently from the AC lines that bear her name. The second one is due out soon.

I've missed her, too! She's been a guest on Paperclipping Roundtable quite a bit lately also...and maybe I made this up, but I think Noelle (one of the hosts) alluded to Shimelle making some sort of announcement soon...I got the impression that maybe Shimelle will be offering new classes from what she said.

Can't wait to see her! I'm hoping for a class. Didn't she just put a class out tho, while still on mat leave, that wasn't all that popular? I can't quite remember. I didn't take it because of reviews, but would normally jump on any Shimelle material.
Yes, the mat leave situation is pretty dire in the US compared to the rest of the 1st world nations. I am working with a girl going for her first mat leave here (in Canada) and she's American, moved here to marry, and she is just so excited to have time off!!!

In fact, it was supposed to be out around the time her son was born, I thought. (or it may have been due out the time her first scrapbooking collection came out, one of those!) I always wondered what happened to it. Did anyone take this class or remember what the reviews said? I didn't take it either, and I was wondering why it wasn't well received? It was called Inspired by, or something similar, I think. I know it wasn't solely taught by her, but more a collection of classes by ex Garden Girls. And whatever happened to her Master Class? Can't wait to see her! I'm hoping for a class. Didn't she just put a class out tho, while still on mat leave, that wasn't all that popular? I can't quite remember. I think her book was supposed to be about photography.
I hope if and when she does come back she I hope she does some videos. I always enjoyed her glitter girl series on 2peas.
I wonder if she ever reads posts on this forum.

She has a new blog post up today and it looks like her maternity leave is over. I'm interested to see what she will do now that she's back at work (and I'm really hoping for some new videos!).
