I was wondering, is anyone here joining in on 'Calvinball' over at the Get It Scrapped site?? After hearing about it for years on people's blogs and youtube videos, I finally joined in this year! It should be fun, and hopefully will get me scrapping quicker! It's a challenge that goes on the whole month of March, named after the game Calvinball from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip (Calvin and Hobbes played this game that didn't have any rules; the rules were made up as they went along). Calvinball in scrapping is a friendly contest to see who can get the most points for scrapping- there's points for creating pages (mini-books, pocket pages, cards, tags, etc. all count), leaving comments on layouts posted in the gallery, leaving comments on blog posts, bonus points for specific scrapping challenges such as using a template or scraplifting a gallery layout, points for printing photos, etc. It's for digital or paper scrappers, and runs thru Midnight on 3/31 whatever your local time zone is. Last night, I finished up one 2-page layout and two single-page layouts, one of which had been hanging around for at least 1 1/2 years. If it wasn't for Calvinball giving me a kick in the pants, it probably still wouldn't be finished! here's a couple links for more information about it if anyone is interested-- come play along! Maybe I can play along. It's a busy month, but it looked like fun last year.

I am! Loving that it's a month long -- makes getting stuff done very achievable for a slow scrapper like me.

I am! Loving that it's a month long -- makes getting stuff done very achievable for a slow scrapper like me. I know, right?? Unless I have all day to spend at it, I am a slow scrapper, too, and have to scrap in 'snippets' of time-- I choose the papers one session, stick the photos down another session, choose the embellishments at a different time, etc. I don't have time to work on stuff every night (I wish, lol!) but I have a 12-hr crop coming up next weekend, so I can try to do some small stuff to prep in the meantime and then hopefully get a good number of layouts finished while I'm at the crop. I am amazed at how fast some of the (digital) scrappers seem to be at making pages, but I wouldn't ever give up my 'real' paper and glue!

Yes, those digital ladies are impressive! Last night I was working on a layout I've had around for a few weeks.. I've painted over it, ripped it apart, added more layers, pulled other layers off, and finally last night cut a whole bunch of it off! I was thinking that if I digital scrapped all of that removing would have been a lot easier. Have fun at your crop!

I'm not, but I am sort of following along with Katie Scott via her Youtube videos. She started getting ready a month or so ago.
