I think the concert was a night or two before the child died.
I have to agree I think the wife knows something more or is setting him up. Although in the last episode or two, she seems more "understanding" and likable.

That's what I thought, too. Yes Dave was with her.. but how could he have also been out getting drunk with Ben? I think the wife is setting him up. But they didn't come home in the same taxi? It's all so baffling!!

You say you don't know about. And she forgives him that quickly??? That is a hurt that takes a long time to get over!!

My understanding is that she already knew (like long ago) that he slept with the neighbor. Neither of them knew the boy was his. So, it's reasonable that she would be over it. I mean, it would be a shock that the child was was, but it doesn't change anything, really, if they'd dealt with and moved beyond the affair. But I do think there's something up with the wife. I don't think she did it, but I think she's got secrets we'll be finding out about soon.

I agree @busypea! In previous episodes they seems intent showing her getting dressed for client dinners, special jewelry gifts, etc. This episode she was in tshirts and jeans and lnife loving toward her husband. I feel like something's up. It's wearing a little thin to me, each week there's a new possibility that gets wrapped up in a way. I'm waiting for the older black couple to come into play- they've been negative about Bwn. But I'm getting tired of his running and being frantic.
Juliette Lewis is starting to make me laugh with her gazes, she's two dimensional.

I want to watch it but my husband will not. Ryan was his best friend in highschool and they do not talk now. He refuses to watch anything with him in it. I always tease him about his jealousy. LOL. I would be tempted to watch the Australian version first though, cause it has been interesting compairing the two versions of The Slap. The American one has a lot more story lines than the first one. What??? That is amazing! I would kill to hear THAT story! Not very interesting really. They went to school together at a small Baptist school in DE there were less than 50 in his grad. class. He was there when Ryan first got on the Soap and traveled to NY all the time with he and his mom when he was on the soap. After high school DH went to college and Ryan went to Hollywood, LOL. He married Reese Witherspoone, LOL and my husband got me. There was no bad blood just drifted apart. I don't think DH is really jealous except maybe a little bit, LOL.

Tom was left with a neighbor so the daughter could go to the concert. I can't think of the lady's name at the moment but she was blonde, married to the doctor and they threw the party on Sunday's episode. But didn't it come out that Ben's friend ended up going to the concert with her because her boyfriend(?) backed out? Yes, he did. But I took it that the neighbor still baby sat for Tom. I could be mistaken, though, as I was doing other things while watching.

I don't understand why they keep parking their car in their driveway after the first vandalism? You can get a security camera for $200, seems like an easy fix for the outside of their home.

That scene last night where he opened the garage and all those flashlights were set up was wild!!!
Seems like the detective is still suspicious of him but may be thinking he isn't so guilty after all.

I have to agree with you disneypal. That was a cool twist. I really hope there is a planned ending and they aren't writing it as they go along and it ends up stupid!

I finally watched recent episode. The younger daughter's party reminded me of the threads here about direct communication. The host Dad should have made an effort to call Ben and Un-invite his daughter.
What a rude thing to do to a child.
The scenes from next episode were out of the blue...what the heck is happening?

I'm enjoying this show with the exception of Juliette Lewis. She just makes me want to kick the tv screen.

I'll watch it sometime this evening. I love whodunit type shows. Top of The Lake is the one you're thinking of jackie. It was really good once you understood their cadence of speech. For some reason I always expect Ryan Phillipe to be the bad guy in whatever show he's in. He has that innocent baby face look about him so when he turns out to be evil incarnate it's a complete shocker. Kinda like in The Lincoln Lawyer. Top of the Lake is *aewsome*!

She's always bugged me as an actress and I could never watch her too close in any show she was in. This one, the camera seems to zoom in on her face and it drives me crazy. Her music isn't too bad though. Just can't watch her sing!
