Did anyone watch this new show last night with Ryan Phillippe? I really enjoyed it, which means it probably won't last LOL. What did you think of it?

I'm watching it and liking it. But these are my favorite kinds of shows)-love Gracepoint, The Slap, The Killing, The Fall, and shoot, what was the name of the one set in New Zealand with Elizabeth Moss.
I will say that Juliette Lewis' character was creepy. I'm very interested to find out who the killer is.

I loved it!!
I'm anxious to find out more about who Tyler is. Remember during the funeral the special needs son of the neighbor was on his Ipad and said "I want Tyler" or something like that? When asked if Tyler was home, Mom said "He's not out yet" or something like that?

I'll watch it sometime this evening. I love whodunit type shows. Top of The Lake is the one you're thinking of jackie. It was really good once you understood their cadence of speech. For some reason I always expect Ryan Phillipe to be the bad guy in whatever show he's in. He has that innocent baby face look about him so when he turns out to be evil incarnate it's a complete shocker. Kinda like in The Lincoln Lawyer.

I liked the original Aussie version with Martin Henderson and really preferred it over this one. I don't understand why they recreate shows like this for American television when the original is in English. I mean if it was in a foreign language that needed subtitles, it would make sense to recreate an English version.
Anyway, it's a good series and has a good ending. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed it and am looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. I love both Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis. It was nice to see Melissa Gilbert, too!

It's on rerun now and I think he did it, maybe he was having an affair with the neighbor hence the problems with his wife and he went to the neighbor drunk and some accident happened that he covered up but now can't remember. Who runs through dark woods? And with no flashlight?
Do painters make a good living? His house is really big.

I changed my mind, I think the ex-husband found out it wasn't his kid and killed him.

I think his wife did it. I'm watching it right now and I'm sucked in. It's really focusing on his point of view and his frustration is palpable. But I don't have enough information to believe that he did it...yet.

Juliette Lewis is ruining it for me.. I cannot.stand.her. at all!! She is weirding me out on the show as well now. Her damn eyeballs look like whoever she is looking at is the killer. Who shows up at a house all times of the day and night? (really? In real life?) I think I would like the show much better if it wasn't her on it. I am loving it though that Melissa Gilbert has a small part (Her hubby is a director or producer or something)... I don't know something about it is rubbing me the wrong way, but I am sucked in now.

I really liked the Australian version that was on last year. If they keep it the way the AU one went the ending is really good.
This seems to be a new trend, shows that are only 8-10 episodes long and that's it.

Yeah, she's playing her role too well. Lol! I've never liked her though, so wasn't expecting that to change in this show. Only now I dislike her even more but have a grudging appreciation for how well she is making me hate her. After the second episode I am convinced that he did not do it now. But someone in his household is guilty. Maybe by the next episode I can rule one of the girls out. I'm looking at the mom but haven't seen anything that stands out. Just the missing flashlight and that points the finger at all of them.

Has anyone heard if this is going to be like the Australian version and have a short run, or will they drag it out year after year after year? I liked that it was wrapped up in 6 or 8 episodes in the original version. If you haven't seen the Australian version yet, it's a must to watch on Netflix.

Gracepoint is originally Broadchurch out of the UK and they just finished airing season 2 over there. It was really good!

I don't know how I feel about the show. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. None of the characters are particularly likable except for the youngest daughter of Ryan Phillippe's character.
Juliette Lewis' character bugs me the most of all. I guess I'm having trouble with the way she's railroading him, almost to the point of being unbelievable.
I think I'll continue to watch because it's just a few episodes and because I'm fairly sure I've figured out who killed him. I'm curious to know if I'm right.

I HATE Juliette Lewis' character. seriously. ugh. I hate the severe look that she has and the almost forced scowl or whatever you call it that is constantly on her face. I hate her so much I am not sure I can enjoy the show.
I don't really know Ryan Phillippe, but his eyes look black to me. Is that just me? I like his character and am so frustrated for him.
like a PP said, I like the youngest daughter. She's so cute and innocent. she's probably the killer. LOL. I just also kept seeing Gracepoint in my mind while watching. I liked that show, but I don't want an exact repeat, you know?
I will probably continue, but for me, I am not quite sure how I feel about it. I will probably like it more after hashing it over with my friend at work today. That usually sucks me in more to a show, recapping it with my co-workers.
ETA: the Gracepoint comparison is simply to say, I was constantly switching who I suspected and they kept throwing out things to keep that happening. I am not sure I want to do that all over again.

I have it DVR'd so I'll probably watch it this weekend. It's one of the few shows premiering this month that I set to record.
Is anyone going to watch The Odd Couple? I will probably record the first 2 episodes to see how it goes.

I bought a new cycling trainer, so this is the show I'm watching while I'm riding my bike I watched it yesterday and I really liked it. I have always liked Juliette Lewis, so her character doesn't bother me at all. Who is the guy living in the garage apartment? Is that Ryan Philippe's brother? I think he is the character that I find most annoying. And how creepy was it when the ex-husband broke into the house!?! ETA: And if this ends like the first season of The Killing, I will swear off shows like this forever!!! They better have a resolution at the end of the last episode.

And how creepy was it when the ex-husband broke into the house!?! I must have missed that part? Oh yeah. Ben (i think that's his name) was sleeping on the couch. He woke up and Scott was standing over him telling him that if Ben didn't go to prison, he was going to kill him. It was very spooky, but I can't figure out why he just laid there. If someone broke into my house, I'd be FREAKING OUT!

I'm watching it now, and like it. Therefore it is doomed to fail.
I keep thinking GracePoint too. Like a prettier, better GracePoint.

I read it's a limited series - 10 episodes and that's it. No second season. (At least that's what I read.)
