I was planning on using Photobucket, but when I went to download their software I got some kind of horrible malware and it took me most of yesterday trying to get my computer back to normal.
So now I would like some suggestions from "real" people

I use the web version of Photobucket and have for years, I've never downloaded anything though. No problems with it at all.

Personally, I've used Smugmug for around 10 years. It offers unlimited storage, lots of options for password protecting galleries (very useful when I shoot DD's soccer games and want to share the pictures with the families but not have them publicly viewable), and great flexibility and customer service. It's not free, but for what I need and use it for, I don't mind paying for it.

Same as cmpeter - Photobucket has been fine for me. But I haven't downloaded anything either.

To host photos to post on here I use Tiny Pic. You don't have to have an account and the resizing is super easy. No software.

Picasa. I've been using it since 2008, and while they do charge you if you go over a certain amount of storage space, it's a small amount. I have no problems sharing photos, and haven't had any issues with privacy (the reason I had to delete all of my SmugMug albums a few years ago).

I have a Photobucket account and I tried (and tried and tried) to get the 4 seasons photos in my siggie. I finally figured out that the URL from Photobucket was too long. I had read that some folks here used Tinypic, so I went there and viola. Piece of cake with the short URLs!!
