So excited for the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention in Phoenix, AZ next week! I signed up for the preview crop, 12 x 12 technique workshop, quick and sassy pocket pages, and Cards Full of Sunshine classes. I noticed on the CK events facebook page, that they are offering a free T-shirt to those who register for a class or crop starting March 4th through March 9th (when early registration ends). So of course I added another class to my schedule today.

Have fun!!!
They canceled the one scheduled for Nashville this year so no CKC for me. A friend and I are going to try Scrapbook Expo in Atlanta instead.

I'll be there on Saturday. Taking 4 classes and then doing a little shopping even though I NEED nothing. I'm taking the Quick and Sassy Pocket pages on Saturday. Are you in that one?

So I went to the CK convention yesterday. It was not as busy as other years. I heard some vendors talking about how slow it was - the shopping picked up in the afternoon. One vendor said he won't be back to CK but will go only to the Scrapbook Expo because it is in a better location and more fun for everyone. My first class was True Colors with My Mind's Eye taught by Nicole Harper for CK. It was about Color Theory - monochromatic etc. We completed one and a half pages but have great color instructions and product to complete 2 more single pages and the rest of the double layout. Great class and teacher. I won a card design magazine. Second - Trendy Techniques with Gossamer Blue. ( love the product and will buy more!) also taught by Nicole Harper. We did a lot of ink spraying with Mr Huey sprays. I did learn that you could also drip the ink on your paper. Mr Huey sprays are a good product - they don't warp paper and have nice clear colors. We completed a lot of elements for 2 two page spreads. Third class - Selfie album by Lickety Split Scrapbooks. Super cute project. Got the harder parts done - have great color instructions to complete at home. Some of the pretty envelopes were missing but Abby said she would mail them to us. Not her fault due to the dock workers labor issues. I could see myself making this again too. Last class - Quick and Sassy Pocket pages taught by Nicole for CK. I think everyone was tired by this time. (230pm) Nicole showed us to gussy up some cards and gave some great advice about product shopping and just being chill about our scrapbooking. I won a cute Stampin Up punch - petite curly label - tiny and adorable. The vendor fair was smaller - lots of discount products - even one booth looked like she was cleaning out her stash. Stamps of Life booth was busy - SEI only had an outlet booth. I still managed to spend most of my budget. I like the downtown location but only because I found a super close and easy parking space. It was even free this year!! I don't think the timing was the best though - right around spring break and spring training. Maybe CK thought it was a good time so families could come to AZ - and take in all that the valley has to offer this time of year. I'll be back but I'm also going to the EXPO in September.
