This just blew me away. Seriously. Most moving ad campaign in forever.

I saw the ad earlier today. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it.

I'm with grinningcat - I understand the concept but not the manifestation. Fake bruises, glamorous and recognizable dress, the pose...kind of don't get it and I'm not confident that it will get through to the intended audience.

I think it's a very powerful ad. It gets your attention and says exactly what needs to be said. Good for them!

The fact of the matter is that 1 in 6 are abused and so many get no help at all from anyone. I think it is a necessary message and applaud them for using this viral sensation to get the word out. My friend was killed due to domestic violence. MURDERED. And his family still is in denial over what their son did and tried to turn it around on her. So much stigma and denial.

I don't know how I feel about it. I think it misses the target audience. I also really struggle with institutions of patriarchy pointing out how women are abused, it just feels like hypocrisy. I don't disagree with scrappower that its a vital message, but I don't think this addresses the stigma, and I think that the root of this issue comes from a place of women having a "place" and that place is below men.
