I just washed my cell phone and now need to find a new one. I had a prepaid tracfone and really liked it. I text mostly now and some short phone calls. I averaged adding minutes every other month and spending about $40.
I do not want a big monthly phone bill and I do not think I need a data plan at this time.
If you have a prepaid phone, what service do you use and what are the good and bad about it?
Thanks

I washed my cell phone years ago and was able to revive it with the rice trick. I had pre paid Verizon before my landlord added me to her t-mobile. I liked having unlimited minutes and texts.

I have no advice on a prepaid phone, but give your wet phone time to recover. DD fell in the pool with her last phone and we pulled it apart and put it in a bag of rice. Because it happened about 4 weeks before our plan was up and we were going to change providers there was no way I was replacing it. She and I had the same phone, so we switched Sim cards and realized about a week later that the wet phone had dried out fully and was working again.

It is a cheap phone anyway, so no big deal to replace it. We have talked about it, but as long as it was working, no need to spend the money. Now I may not have a choice.

Dh and I have been with Virgin Mobile for 5 years now and love it. $35 a month for each phone. Tons of minutes, texting, data included so internet, google maps, apps, etc.
