My girls (both with long hair) have been in the pool a ton this summer- their hair is a WRECK. I've never really noticed damage in prior years, but this year it's a tangly sticky mess. Any good shampoo/conditioner/treatment recommendations?

When our pool was first built my daughter's hair was an absolute mess. She has blonde hair and I'm not sure if because it's blonde makes it more susceptible to tangles, etc... Anyway, I went to Sephora and purchased the Dry shampoo/conditioner formula by Phyto. I also would put the Moroccan oil in her hair afterwards. Totally made a difference when combing out her hair. Good luck!
Right before school started she did have to have about 6" cut off because of the damage.

My hairdresser recommended Paul Mitchell's Clarifying Shampoo 2. It has a blue top. All four of my boys swim year round and it seems to work. No green hair!

Good to know, Tejasgal70! Caitlyn just got back from the pool and her very white blonde hair is GREEN. LOL!! Poor girl.

Another vote for the Paul Mitchell. Works like a charm!

When my girls hair gets bad we use Paul Mitchell as well.

The Paul Mitchell stuff is good. I'm a year-round swimmer and I have blonde hair. Not white blonde but it can get pretty straw-like after a long stretch.
Getting my hair wet before I swim works better than any shampoo or conditioner. The hair absorbs less of the chlorinated water when I get it wet first.

I'll have to try the Paul Mitchell. Alison has a great green tint going - to the point that I am tempted to really put some green color in to make it look purposeful. We had a little luck soaking in vinegar the adding baking soda.

Another great product to get the green out of blond hair is Malibu's After-Swim Care.

Thanks ladies- we tried the Paul Mitchell one recommended. It's definately better but not back to normal yet, I'm hoping after a week of steady use and havinng them wet their hair prior to getting in might help.

I highly recommend the Malibu treatment. The green was gone after 1 treatment. You use after you've washed your daughters hair.

Thanks for asking this. My little one's hair is ruined every summer from the pool! I am going to be trying the shampoo that was recommended and hope that helps.

I have started getting my daughter's hair damp/wet and then I run some conditioner through it before we go to the pool. It is pulled back into a ponytail also just to try and keep some of the tangles out.
