Ten years ago I made an all about me album and thought, since it's been ten years, it seemed like the perfect time to do an updated version. A lot of the layouts in my original album can be easily replicated for the new version but there are a few that are either no longer relevant or can be consolidated.
What things would you want to document about yourself and your life that you think would be of interest in another ten years?

What a great idea! How about progress of electronics? I would certainly take updated photos of anything you put in originally. Cars, houses, yourself, your work, even your scrapbook style has probably changed.

I would probably include pages about: the music I like right now and why (and include a pocket for a mix CD on the page), a "day in the life" timeline of an average day, favorite foods/recipes/restaurants, books/tv shows/movies you like, things you collect, hobbies/things you do in your free time, a page about who you share your life with (family, friends, pets). That's about all I can think of off the top of my head!

Keeping it real is my style so I would include a page or two about people who have come and gone during the intervening years; the obvious memorial pages for people who have passed, but also a record of my feelings where friends/ family have proved false, drifted away and so on. For me this is part of dealing with my feelings. My current project has the title "No good deed goes unpunished"

Thanks for all the ideas so far - it's fun to see what others would include. I purposely didn't list any of the pages I intend to replicate because I wanted to see what ideas others had. I can see some great variations to include on pages I already had. How about progress of electronics? I love this idea. In my original album I documented what I spent my money on - cost of an average grocery trip, movie tickets, clothes, petrol, music, and internet. Apparently 10 years ago I paid $18/month for my dial up connection with unlimited downloads - how times have changed! ...I would include a page or two about people who have come and gone during the intervening years; the obvious memorial pages for people who have passed, but also a record of my feelings where friends/ family have proved false, drifted away and so on. I hadn't considered this but it seems quite fitting as some of the people mentioned in my first album are no longer part of my life. When I'm following a story I always want to know why certain characters are not in the sequel

I'd include:
My age
Where I work
Hobbies
Favorite: tv shows, songs, restaurants, meals, drinks,
I'd do a whole layout on my favorite outfits (with me wearing them)
My pets (if I had any)
I might do a "where I think I'll be in five/ten years" page
All about where I live (especially if I thought I might be moving in the next decade)

I love this idea. I don't know what I could add to what has already been offered, because any of these pages would be great memories in 10 years.
The only thing I might include that I have actually scrapped in the past is my beliefs and political views. While I have not done heavy journalling about it, I have done pages where those things were included.

While I have not done heavy journalling about it, I have done pages where those things were included. I had a page on things I believe in the original album (as opposed to religious beliefs) and I plan to update that. It should be interesting to see if any of those beliefs have changed over the years. I hadn't considered political views but given the political turmoil we've gone through over the last couple of years with frequent leadership challenges and spills it's a great idea.

Not just what you like, but how it has changed. Some of my tastes are the same, but executed differently, kwim? Instead of saying that I like the tv show Criminal Minds, my LO might be more on how I had never seen it in the past, and am now watching on Netflix - not to mention the fact that I don't have cable tv anymore and only use Netflix or Youtube to watch "tv." LOL
Red Velvet cake used to be hard to find unless you made it yourself...now, it is everywhere to the point that there are limited edition Red Velvet Oreos.
My Kindle Fire.
Replicate pictures from the first album with the same people now.
Stuff like that. I'd also do LOs that show how some things never change.

I would include all the new technology and apps I now use...my Android phone, my Asus tablet, new HP laptop, Boise Sound link mini, my GPS, etc. Pinterest, Pandora, Facebook, Google, et al...compared to what I used 10 years ago, I'm finally out of the Stone Age!

Ah, this is an interesting take on things. I hadn't thought about how the things I watch has changed in it's delivery over time. 10 years ago we had to wait (often months) for shows to air after they had screened in the US. Now the most popular shows are fast tracked to start as soon as an hour after it has aired in the US.
And 10 years ago the only phones that look like our current ones were in Sci Fi shows.

I had a page that sort of pulled in ideas from this, more of a "one day I would like to" kind of page. I think firm goals would make a difference because Ialmost all of my original wishes are still on the to do list.

I'd do a page about the ordinary everyday things that I'm still using - a blanket that's been in every apt/home, the same tea towels, the same brand of toothpaste, any quirky habits/things you're peculiar about (the order of cutlery in a drawer, if your spices have to face a certain way, how you fold your socks)...
I'd also do a page about junk drawers, and about the spots/items that make up the clutter in my life... The newspaper that sits next to the door until recycling day, etc...
I like a pp's suggestion about recreating a photo... I like seeing those photos where kids reenact photos from there childhood, and think that would be cool...
