No answers, but I am curious about your Pea name? Are you actually a zookeeper? I am a docent at a very large Zoo and spend a lot of time on so grounds.

I am from Woodbury. My son knows Seth just in passing (my son is younger and plays football against Seth's younger brothers). What is it you are hoping to learn?

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but my question would be that if he's already committed to a great college, why would he need to transfer to play at a top high school? He's already set. Plus it doesn't seem very beneficial to get a QB for just one season and for the QB to try to learn a new team's plays, social structure for just one season.

My opinion only... It's probably a mix, but mostly coincidence in Seth's case. We all heard it was a job transfer. And like you said, Seth is already committed. But I wouldn't put it past the dad to be looking ahead for the younger boys already, and to have had some input on the transfer. The younger boys dont have the same raw talent as Seth. They will need the advantages that a better football school can give them.

There's a lot of drama and backstory that I won't get into; suffice it to say we aren't sad to lose the dad from area youth athletics. LOL.

I was wondering why the name Seth Green sounded familiar. I think I read an article in the paper about him playing for Allen. All I can say is he has some HUGE shoes to fill. Kyler Murray who is graduating this year and headed to Texas A&M, is the top ranked QB in the country and never lost a game with Allen (43-0). Allen is a huge school in 6A division. The mega stadium should reopen next season so Seth Green will get to feel what it is like to play in front of very large crowds before heading to college. The stadium seats 18,000.
I have no idea if some recruiting was going on or not. DFW has had huge job growth and it continues to grow. Do you know what company his dad works for?

I'm not from Woodbury but I live 30 miles from there. I haven't heard any of this drama but I have some relatives that have kids in school there, so I guarantee they would have some scoop. I am another one who could not think about the city without thinking of The Walking Dead -- and I drive through there every day.

I'm in MN too, and have never heard of the kid. MN HS football is no big deal from what I have heard compared to Tx. correct? And if he has brothers coming up? maybe they took this oppurtunity and took it? There definetly has not been ANYTHING on the news about it. Interesting.

I care because I do not like the way this looks to the high school football crowd in the state of Texas. It screams of recruitment to me and it does to a lot of people. I love high school football. I'd rather watch high school football than college or NFL. Everyone who hates Allen already thinks that our last three state titles are tainted because of a questionable transfer and now we are just stirring the fires.

Cindy you're right -- MN HS football is nothing compared to what it is in TX. It's a much bigger deal down there. Now Hockey.....that's a whole other story, lol!

I don't know the school or their history or controversy, but I don't actually think this transfer was the result of recruitment for Seth. If anything, it was the other way around with the dad wanting him to play there. I really think that's more about the younger sons though. And to be fair to Seth, the drama I referenced has nothing to do with him. It's all about the dad and his history with the youth athletic leagues in this area.

Hockey...My husband is from Boston and grew up playing pond hockey. I think he could probably skate before he could walk. He was astounded at the size of high school football in Texas. He is so grateful to have a wife that loves sports!

Zoo, what Kate is saying that HS football is NO big deal here in MN, but HOCKEY!! Hockey is KING. And could see transfers. recruitment and such for playing hockey in MN, not football, So another good reason to transfer.

This story is news here. I am sure that it is not in Minnesota...but it most definitely is here.
Olan...seriously. Do you always walk into a conversation, listen and then say that you don't know why they would care. It's more than your claws that are showing. Bad manners. I seriously wonder why people to just feel free to give their opinion where it is not asked. Do you do this type of thing in real life? Maybe you do. And then you think I'm the one with the message board police issue? That's rich.

I clicked hoping to find some pea spring in to action to help a fellow pea who needed someone with feet to the ground on an important issue. I was just disappointed to see how trivial the request was. I still stand firmly by my mind blown statement. And since I've been accused of showing claws may I add: Who gives a fuck? No but really.. who? Like why? How come? Dig deep...how does this really affect your day to day life? Where is the pea who reminds us to focus on ISIS and not fluff?

Again....bad manners. Or maybe you are just a miserable B. I had a question that I am actually very serious about based on the news in my town and the gossip/rumor mill and mud slinging about my local school district. Is it national terrorist epic? No...but then neither is a lot of content on this board.
Good grief. Just go the eff away.

I guess we will never know. Much like you won't know if dad really got a better job opportunity or if it was some secret handshake in the middle of a football arena. *knocking* AND YEP YOU GUESSED IT. NONE OF IT MATTERS ANYWAY. Me being a miserable bitch or the great football mystery of 2015. Of course this board has its share of useless fluff threads but on this rainy Tuesday your thread wins for THEE MOST USELESS THREAD. Hooray! I'm sorry for how I behaved here tonight.

Since the school this person is transferring to has a mega-stadium for football games, I would think 18,000 people care about this issue. With that kind of fan base, of course there is scrutiny over the starting lineup of the team.

It is going to be a pretty difficult transaction for a QB to join a team at his Senior year in High School.
Where I live it is not over the top football crazy but these kids have been playing together since first grade and truly know each other. Makes me wonder how their current QB and rest of their team is feeling about this. I think the transfer/move was more for the younger sons. With so much stress to prove himself hopefully the older son does not get hurt since he'll be playing with a new team and most of the other players will be playing their last year of football.
