I just received the email. So sad! They will be closing May 31st. I know it was mentioned on another thread so wanted to make sure everyone knew in case you were planning on making a special trip.

So sad to get their email. I enjoyed shopping there and were great with custom papers.

Gosh they are closing everywhere, so sad the HLs and Michaels are becoming the only brick and mortar stores for SB supplies. I still have a small SB store about 10 miles away here in NW AR, but not sure how much longer she will stay open.

OMG!!!!! That's the store I was talking about in my thread asking for other stores in that area .... I mean, I know that it's not closing because of me but I feel kind of guilty for essentially "dissing" them-I never would've wanted them to close just because they don't carry what *I* want. ('kay, not about me - personal pity party over!)

I didn't think you sounded like you were dissing them! I don't shop there much anymore. Mostly because I'm trying to cut my spending and they don't have coupons. I really liked the original owner and how she had the store set up. Plus she had an awesome sale on Black Friday. This owner is also very nice but I don't scrap or shop well by theme. They have a nice selection but I find it takes me an hour to wander around and pick out what I need. I'm still sad it's closing since it was really the only scrap store left in the area.

I visited their store on Tuesday (3/17) and had a great selection to choose from. Thrilled that they had the customized papers such as universities and local schools They are still looking to find a place that is as big as their current location but haven't had any luck...taxes and prices are just too much around the Chicago area. Hope they find a new home soon...

So, they are just moving, not disappearing? Well if so, that is MUCH better news! I hope that's the case!!!

This is the email I received.....
Sad News.......
Some notes to our friends are fun and easy to write, some can only be described as painfully sad. Today is one of those painfully sad ones when we must tell you that Memories & Beyond will be closing our doors on Sunday, May 31. We have not been able to renegotiate a favorable lease arrangement, so we'll have the next 90 days or so to say good-bye to our loyal customers. Some information that will be of help: Right now, our hours will remain the same, and any changes will be posted on Facebook and via our email system. Effective 3/13/15, purchases under $10.00 must be paid for in cash. Credit and debit cards will continue to be accepted for over $10.00. Purchases made beginning 3/13/15 will be considered FINAL - no refunds or exchanges will be offered or available. We will, however, honor our commitment to refund or exchange salable merchandise for purchases made within the last 30 days. We have ceased selling gift cards as of today, and urge anyone who has an outstanding gift card to consider redemption sooner rather than later. We will continue to have our Friday and Saturday night crops, as in the past, but since quite a few of them are already sold out, you may want to make your reservation if that is something you would enjoy doing. As you can no doubt imagine, the staff is very sad at this turn of events. We hope you'll have a chance to stop by to say hello when you're in the neighborhood. We have sincerely appreciated your business, and more importantly, your friendship. Karen and the Staff
...... I really hope they are trying to relocate. Maybe things have changed since they sent the email.

I don't live anywhere near there but it's always sad to see another store close. It just speaks to the downsizing of the industry or shift to online retailing. I, for one, like to see my products in person before buying. Sometime colors and patterns don't translate well on a computer monitor or tablet.
