I've been making scrapbooks for 14 years now. Most are packed away in totes as I don't have room to keep them all out.
I just finished splitting a 2008 into 2 smaller albums and noticed that a lot of the stuff that I put on the pages (pictures, embellishments, other cardstock, etc.) is falling off the pages and is now sitting in the bottoms of each page protector.
I would imagine that all of my scrapbooks are doing this as I used the same adhesive on all of them. It was a store brand called Darice.
So now, I have to go through 14 years worth of scrapbooks (probably around 20 books that are at least 100 plus pages) and reattach everything. Grrrr...
So, what is a good adhesive that will actually last so I don't have to do this again? I'm going to start working on them over spring break (maybe...) but thought I'd throw it out there so I can purchase the adhesive now so that when the urge strikes, I've got the supplies on hand.
So frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!

my go-to adhesives are: -Scotch Quick Drying Tacky Glue (white liquid) -Scor-Tape -fabri-tac
for embellishments I would probably use something like Fabri-Tac for photos, the scor-tape for paper and cardstock, the Scotch glue for really small embellishments, Glossy Accents

I would definately use glue dots for your memorabilia and herma dotto permanent for paper things/photos. scrapbookpal.com has it for $2.85 a roll.

I like the scotch dot adhesive roller....they make a version for extra strength too. For heavier items andembellishements I like score tape or ranger multi medium in matte.....

I use and highly recommend the ATG gun by 3M. These were initially discovered by us scrapbookers because the people who frame art, and the like, use it.

I put my vote on the NSBR thread you copied to. I would like to repeat here at GS that I far prefer this GS board to the HUGE one which co-existed with and survived the 2peas one. Our board may move slowly compared to the very busy days on the old board, but replies here are quality ones and I thank you all. I will try to post more.

I also use the Scotch ATG 714. After the initial cost of the tape dispenser, it is a really cheap and permanent solution to adhesive. I bought mine at Michael's and I know they sell the refills (archival or non-archival). Hobby Lobby also carries the refills.

ive had the same problem sometimes but I used so many brands throughout the years it's difficult to say which was the culprit. One thing I was guilty of was not using enough adhesive. One quick swipe just wasn't cutting it. Right now I'm using Tombow, Zig glue pen, and Glossy Accents to name a few. No problems so far.

If you thinking about getting the ATG which I have, I would suggest the E-Z Runner Grand Dispenser. I think it is most reasonably priced and made by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I google searched and found this site. I have not shopped here but it gives you price and image. Go luck with finding a good adhesive! ATG and Aleenes Acid Free Tacky Glue. You can find knockoff refills for the ATG very reasonable, especially doing a group buy.

I want to second papersilly's use of Fabri-Tac. I do a lot of multi-media canvas projects and not one thing has fallen off over the years, and most of it is heavy stuff. So many paper artists I know use this. All craft stores have it.
I also love Scotch Glue and Glossy Accents.

I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years. For the first 10, I probably used CM adhesives exclusively. I have not had anything fall off those pages. Then I switched to the Herma dots and used those until they became hard to find. Those pages seem pretty secure as well. Then I went with the Tombow Mono Adhesive. Initially, I did not have any problems with it, but about a year ago, things started not sticking very well, so now I've switched to Scotch Adhesive Dot rollers -- which I like how the adhesive goes on, hopefully stuff will stay on the pages well. Haven't had any problems with it yet.
