I know that the Silhouette Cameo is the Cutting Machine of choice here, but I was wondering if there are any Cricut Explore users here.
My sweet, wonderful DH recently bought me an Explore. My main concern with purchasing the Explore was *having* to be connected to the internet to do anything and everything with the Explore. My DH had assured me that he felt our internet connection would be reliable enough to be able to use the Cricut - and it is. Yeah!
However - it's not my internet that's the problem, it's Cricut! It seems to be "down" so, so much. It makes me so sad. I want to work on a project and BAM! Circuit Design Space is down. Again & again & again. Ugh.
So - my question. Has anyone found a day of the week and/or a time of day that seems where the Cricut site is usually up and a little more stable? I'm not ready to give up on the Cricut Explore (it cuts like a dream!) but, I am getting a wee bit frustrated that the majority of the time I want to play with my new machine, the crazy site is down. Boo-hoo.
Please share if you've found a time when Cricut seems to be up and running for this newbie!
TIA!

I have only had my Explore for about two weeks and this is the first time that the site has been down for me. The site says scheduled maintenance. Seems to me thought they would plan to do this at a time when folks wouldn't be crafting but I don't know when that would be considering they cater to folks all over the place not just the US/Canada. <---longest run on sentence ever!!!!

I don't have the Explore, but I have heard that they are working on the ability to use the machine without being online, so perhaps there is hope in the not-too-distant-future to overcome this problem?
I absolutely refuse to buy it unless I can use it offline. I am sure they know that there are plenty of folks like me. Yes, I love my Silhouette Cameo, but I would consider buying the Explore, too, if it weren't for the online requirement to use the software. That offsets the slightly better cutting capability of the Explore and is a deal breaker for me, despite my owning over 100 Cricut cartridges.
In the meantime, I assume that your best time to use your machine and software would be daytime, rather than evenings and weekends, when the numbers of people online using the software would (presumably) be greater.

Cricut has a Facebook page that posts when Design Space is down. I'm on another Cricut group and some other crafting groups and the post gets spread around. Someone also will post those posts on the Cricut website forums. They are currently making more improvements to DS. However it caused some down time just recently that was not planned.
I'm keeping my Expression 2 because of the online only with the Explore. I actually got my project done right before the trouble the started. So I was lucky in that aspect since it I would've had to start over with my E2.
I do think they are working on a way to use DS without being online. They seem to be listening to Cricut customers better than ever before.
