I read in the INDYSTAR that there are 19 other states but am unable to find which those might be.
Anyone with good Google-foo??

I Googled 'Gay Discrimination States' and found a map. I know Alabama passed same sex marriage then promptly overturned it. Hell, Alabama doesn't even allow Bingo so what can ya' expect!
ETA: Same map I found but use Elaine's link as the map comes up larger.

That is good ( and interesting!), but I was actually looking for states that allow private businesses to discriminate ( based on reading about the law Indiana passed.

I don't think that you would find out which private businesses would discriminate. That would be very hard to find out. In some stores, I think that sometimes the sales staff "just are not around" when a person requires help or "that date is filled" if you are looking to book something.
These things happen to both straight and gay people. It would be your way of thinking that could make it a discrimination or not.

It is these Religious Freedom Act laws that allow businesses to discriminate against gays and others if they justify it according to the business owner's religion.

Finding private businesses might be really difficult unless the media picked up on it. I worked for a RE Broker who discriminated blatantly and even when I tried to report him nobody was interested. People might post on social media you would have no access to.

Elaine, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks!!
What search terms did you use, cause I just wasn't coming up with it? Also, I would LOVE to read the whole article.

I searched "which states have religious freedom restoration act laws?" It produced a number of hits - I think Wikipedia had the quip that I quoted. I liked that they had already updated it to include Indiana.

I'm actually pretty shocked that NC is not on that list.

I'm actually pretty shocked that NC is not on that list. Never underestimate the political power of the Research Triangle!
