I got a manicure (at the Detroit airport of all places) Tuesday afternoon. It's now 3 days later and it still looks great. I never get my nails painted when I have a manicure done, as I love the way they look when they're evened up but I'm so hard on my hands I chip the polish almost immediately.
How long does the polish last typically?

My polish lasts 7-10 days, unless I am stressed. Peeling off polish is my nervous habit.

When I have acrylic nails and do a gel polish. If I am careful, wear gloves to wash dishes & clean, two weeks.

My last manicure lasted about 12-13 hours. It started chipping as I was getting ready for work the next morning. There were little chips of polish all over my desk. I never had one that was so bad. I left for vacation right after work so it was pointless to go back to the nail place a week later.

I usually do a real pale sheer color so if it does start to wear at the tips, it is not obvious. I'm on day 7, and no signs of wear yet.

Mine can last up to a week or so. I do wear rubber gloves when washing dishes, etc. I will also do another top coat mid-week if I remember.

About a week. I starting doing my own after 2 years of gel manis. Seche Vite is miracle! Is there a trick to using it? I love Seche Vite (so shiny and when I add a coat it instantly refreshes my mani or pedi) but I have noticed when I use it it peels off - the entire nail's worth of polish - after just a couple of days.

I do my own and the longest I've been able to stand having the same polish on was 8 days. I wanted to see how long I could go with no chips but I just couldn't stand that color any longer.
Once you find the best base/topcoat combo for your particular nails, you can get decent wear time if you're not having to constantly wash your hands, but I usually can't stand more than three days of any particular color. When I was working in the hospital I usually only got a couple days out of my manicures, which suits me just fine anyway.

Don't use it over dry polish or it will make the polish peel off in sheets. If you want a mani refresher, use regular topcoat or look for a manicure extender like Barielle (can find at Sally's).

Using it to refresh your mani is the reason you have that problem. You are only supposed to use it on top of wet polish.

My gel manicures last 3 weeks easily. My regular pedis last for a few weeks if I apply a top coat every few days.

I get a regular manicure once a week. My manicurist uses Vinyl lux ( sp?) nail polish on my nails. I really don't have a problem with chipping .

I don't get professional manicures. When I do my own in regular polish I can get a few hours to 2 days. With Zoya brand polish and their base and top coat up to four days, with gel polish 6-8 days. I cannot imagine ever being someone that gets 2 weeks out of a gel manicure. My nails really don't like polish.

I do my own nails. Polish lasts 3 to 4 days. I wear gloves when cleaning the house and washing dishes, but even then it still only lasts a few days.

I do my own and it usually lasts about 3 minutes. I love this answer! I would say that it depends on what brand of polish I used. If a topcoat was used, and how hard I was on my hands. I used Crabtree and Evelyn's brand recently and it lasted a week without a topcoat. However, I used a really light pink color so it wasn't as easy to see the wear.

If I do it myself, which is what I usually do, it lasts about 3 days. I don't know why...I use base coat, top coat, and all! lol
If I have it professionally done (only a few times a year), it lasts close to 2 weeks!

I do my own and it lasts 7-10 days.
I always do a combination of polish, jamberrys, and nail stickers. And sometimes other nail art like stamps, glitter, hand painting, and even 3D work.

I do my own nails and a manicure can last at least a week. But I enjoy doing my nails and like to change it up, so I usually do them every 2-3 days.

My 15 yr. old has the best nails! They are long (good length, not crazy long) and strong. She gets over a week and they still look perfect. I tell her that's because she does no work inside or outside the house! But really, she is a typical teen girl, lots of activities and is not at all careful with her things, so it must be great nails that keep from chipping.

I do my own and they can last up to a week. I do not do dishes. That is what the dishwasher is for.
Usually do change out my color every 3-4 days as I bore easily. Also doing my own is relaxing for me. My routine is Nailtiqes 2 as base coat, 2 coats polish, then Sally HNsen Instadry in the red bottle.

I get shellac polish on my own nails and it lasts a long time. I could go 4 weeks and the polish is still in place but with outgrowth, I have to get them done every 3 weeks, sometimes sooner.
