Is a Girls' shoe size 5 a ladies' size 6? I have often bought boys' shoes for myself (when I wanted a specific colour). I just don't know what girls' is and I am getting conflicting information.

DD and I both wear a ladies 5 1/2 or 6 depending on the style. In children/girl size we wear a 3 or 3 1/2.

girls sizes are the same as boys, or rather kids sizes then continue into men's sizes. Not sure why they have a different scale then kids/mens.
My dd is a 3.5-4 in kids and a 5-5.5 in women's

I've always heard you should add 1.5 to the kids' size to get the women's equivalent.

Ok I think I ordered the right size then. They are so cute! I think they will be perfect to wear with a dress (casual) I bought!

I usually add 2 sizes to a girl's size for a women's size. So a girl's 5 would be a women's 7.

It depends on the brand sometimes, but in general I wear a size 8 in women's and a size 6 in girls.
I buy shoes in the kids department ALL the time.
