3/29 Episode only as tonight is the 4/7 episode: We just had a chance to watch last week's and it was crazy! The honeymoon is definitely over for Alicia and her State's Attorney job. I swear, if I were her I'd be saying the other guy could have the job. Ed Asner plays the perfect creepy old pervert! I really wish that she and Finn would hook up ~ but I also want him to hook up with Mary on Donwton Abbey!

I think that Finn said something about having a girlfriend.

I think that Finn said something about having a girlfriend. Recently? I thought they broke up. Or maybe that is wishful thinking.

I also love Marissa. I think she is a hoot.

Tonight's episode was GREAT! We knew what Kalinda did was going to come back to haunt her and it looks like it might haunt Diane too. I'm wondering if Alicia will have to step down from the SA job before she's even sworn in.

Holy smokes, last night's episode really was insane. Anyone care to discuss?

I'm not sure where to start, but insane is a good description. Is this what backroom politics really looks like? How can Alicia be that naive to it all? Did Eli not see this coming?
TBH I wish Alicia had never run for the SA office. That story line along with the over the top witch hunt to convict Carey have kind of made the show jump the shark for me.
And then there is the whole Kalinda/Carey/Diane mess, which knowing Kalinda leaves the show this year, I'm assuming she takes the deal.

The politics of it was horrifying. I know it is just a show, but it seriously scared me while I was watching. It was so evil and threatening. I also wish Alicia never ran, and the Carey witch hunt was over the top obnoxious. I was so frustrated watching that. It is clear how Kalinda will exit the show. My husband says it jumped the shark this season, too. I'm still hoping for more. I love this show.

I agree. Are politics really like that? (I'm guessing yes and it terrifies me) Love Eli, but how could he not know? Surely it wasn't that much of a surprise. Kalinda is leaving? I didn't know.

Yea the show seems to have jumped the shark for me too. Last night was just over the top after the whole Carey thing.
Although I'm not saying that stuff doesn't or can't happen in the real world. I'm saying I found it much less entertaining than the show had been previously. For me it was supposed to be s guilty pleasure show not a life altering political statement.

That was terrifying how all of that happened. How horrifying to have so little control over something like that or to see how politics work. I've never understood it and now I am even more confused and more unmotivated to understand it at the same time because it's so awful!! Nice guys finish last I guess?!!
I am unclear why Eli was not present during her appearing to the board. She had that awful person representing her but I don't know why he could not be present. I am also unclear why he was so caught off guard as he typically is five steps ahead of everything to see what is coming so for him to be as uninvolved as he was with her is kind of boggling.

I think the SA mess is a plot device for her and Peter to get back together. He is there to comfort her because he is the only one in her circle who truly understands how nasty It can be in the political arena. There was a lot of "we are a team" stuff going on that shows how supportive he is being.. Also, it looks like hehas "forgiven" her very public humiliation and betrayal with Will, and he is showing her that he can stand beside her the way she stood beside him during his scandal.
I do think there was a recent reference to a girlfriend for Finn, and that leads me to believe that Peter is going to be her rock through this whole ordeal. And did anyone catch the little "moment" between them last week that was a little playful and she said "don't think this is going to lead to sex" or something like that? Funny thing is, up till then I totally expected they would end up in bed.
Of course, the part of me that doesn't trust Peter wonders if he is behind the push to have her step down as punishment for the affair with Will or maybe as a way to have her so dependent on him that she has nowhere else to turn--no firm, no SA job, no "other man."

Can someone please spoil the ending to last night's episode? My DVR didn't catch the last 15 minutes or so. Thanks!

I absolutely believe last nights episode is exactly how our political system works. Why anyone would willingly choose to enter the political arena is beyond my comprehension.,

Why anyone would willingly choose to enter the political arena is beyond my comprehension., Aren't they in Chicago?? I've always heard stories about the politics there so maybe it's a fair representation. Chicago peas, what say you?

I like the courtroom drama and the cases- they need to get back to that.

Did Alicia actually sign an agreement to leave the firm? Did they buy her out? I don't remember a conclusion to that negotiation episode.

I hope she steps down and goes back to the firm. I too am over the politics and want her to get back to court where she shines. I secretly hope her and Peter get back together. I know no one likes him but I have always had a soft spot for him for some reason. LOL
